DNA methylation and expression of MAPRE3 affect overall survival of early‐stage non‐small cell lung cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Both cg12821679MAPRE3 methylation and MAPRE3 expression are significantly associated with overall survival (OS) of non‐small cell lung cancer. Meanwhile, MAPRE3 expression significantly modified the effect of smoking cessation on OS. Smoking cessation benefits OS merely for patients with high MAPRE3 expression.

Circulating tumor cell viability during and after radiotherapy mirrors treatment response in cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Radiotherapy (RT) response depends on the DNA repair capacity of tumor and host cells. We show that circulating tumor cell (CTC) counts and apoptosis rates before and after RT predict treatment response and outcome, which can be accessed via easily accessible liquid biopsy approaches. General models in min-max planar location

open access: yes
This paper studies the problem of deciding whether the present iteration point of some algorithm applied to a planar singlefacility min-max location problem, with distances measured by either anl p -norm or a polyhedral gauge, is optimal or not. It turns

An Urban Economic Model over a Continuous Plane with Spatial Characteristic Vector Field - Consideration of Heterogeneous Geographical Conditions - [PDF]

open access: yes
Among others Beckmann (1952) firstly introduced the concept of a two dimensional continuous space into economics. This great step had unfortunately not shown further expansion in economics.

Location choice in a continuous model

open access: yes, 2012
This paper proposes a location choice procedure that is capable to handle long term and continuous location choice aspects. It integrates expected travel time, current location effectiveness, prospective location effectiveness, and individual unexplained location preference into a target-based model whose decision heuristic decides on the fly and with ...

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

No Place like Home? Location choice and firm survival after forced relocation in the German machine tool industry [PDF]

open access: yes
We study location choices and firm performance in the German machine tool industry, focusing on the forced migration of East German firms after World War II.

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

Further Bounds for the Estimation Error Variance of a Continuous Stream with Stationary Variogram

open access: yes, 1999
In this paper we establish an upper bound for the estimation error variance of a continuous stream with a stationary variogram V which is assumed to be of r-Hölder type (Lipschitzian) on [-d, d]

Continuous location of dimensional structures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
A natural extension of point facility location problems are those problems in which facilities are extensive, i.e. those that can not be represented by isolated points but as some dimensional structures, such as straight lines, segments of lines ...
