Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

The effect of aging on contour integration
Perception of global patterns requires the integration of local orientation information across space. The present study examined whether this integration ability declines in older age. We measured contrast thresholds for discriminating the global orientation of a "C" shaped contour against a blank background in younger and older subjects.

Euler Sums and Contour Integral Representations [PDF]
This paper develops an approach to the evaluation of Euler sums involving harmonic numbers either linearly or nonlinearly. We give explicit formul{æ} for certain classes of Euler sums in terms of values of the Riemann zeta function at positive integers. The approach is based on simple contour integral representations and residue computations.
