Personalized Models of Biological Barriers and Their Diseases: Recent Progress with Organs‐On‐Chips

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, Volume 10, Issue 2, February 2026.
Buck and Bugter et al. explore the architectural diversity and physiological functions of human barrier systems and reveal how organ‐on‐chip platforms, particularly those integrating patient‐derived cells, are advancing barrier disease modeling. They highlight how emerging biological and technological advances can be used to bridge the gap between ...

Novel Antifungal Scaffold Targeting Tubulin Overcomes Sclerotinia Sclerotiorum Resistance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 8, 9 February 2026.
Addressing pesticide resistance, novel chromone‐acylhydrazone hybrids targeting fungal tubulin are synthesized. Compound G24 potently inhibited S. sclerotiorum (EC50 = 0.21µg mL−1) and demonstrated enhanced field performance via microencapsulation, offering a sustainable strategy against resistance and for global food security.

Pharmacokinetics of teicoplanin in paediatric patients—A systematic review of current literature

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, Volume 92, Issue 2, Page 396-421, February 2026.
Background and Objective Teicoplanin is commonly used in children to treat gram‐positive infections and is sometimes used off‐label prophylactically in surgical or paediatric oncology settings. The pharmacokinetics (PK) of teicoplanin in children exhibit considerable variability, such as in critically ill children or those with renal impairment.

Low‐Dose Aspirin Induced Gastric Ulcer in a Patient With TIA: A Clinical Caution for Aspirin Therapy Without Gastroprotection

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Balancing the cerebrovascular benefits of low‐dose aspirin (LDA) with its significant gastrointestinal (GI) bleeding risk is a critical challenge in secondary stroke prevention. We describe a cautionary case of a 60‐year‐old male who, 6 months after starting LDA for a transient ischemic attack (TIA), presented with a life‐threatening upper GI ...

Photobiomodulation and Radio‐Epithelitis in Anal Carcinoma: A Case‐Report and Clinical Reflection on Emerging Preventive and Supportive Care Modalities

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Radio‐induced dermatitis, a frequent adverse effect of radiation therapy, is particularly prevalent in patients treated for anal margin carcinoma. It may present with varying severity, causing significant pain and impairment of daily mobility, influenced by both patient‐related factors and treatment regimens.
