Dynamic Contrast-Enhanced MRI

2018
Dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI in pre-clinical imaging allows the in-vivo monitoring of vascular, physiological properties in normal and diseased tissue. There is considerable variation in the methods employed owing to the different questions that can be asked and answered about the physiologic alterations as well as morphologic changes in tissue.

Dynamic Contrast-Enhanced (DCE) MRI

Magnetic Resonance Imaging Clinics of North America
The non-invasive dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI (DCE-MRI) method provides valuable insights into tissue perfusion and vascularity. Primarily used in oncology, DCE-MRI is typically utilized to assess morphology and contrast agent (CA) kinetics in the tissue of interest.

Contrast Enhancement of MRI Images

2007
The technique of modification of the histogram of an image can be applied to the problem of image enhancement. Global histogram equalization and local area histogram equalization are two well-known techniques for the same purpose. In this paper new method is proposed to enhance the contrast of bimodal MRI images using histogram specification with Gamma

Analysis of dynamic contrast enhanced MRI

The British Journal of Radiology, 2004
The advances in MRI image acquisition have led to the increasing use of parametric or calculated images, which are designed to display physiological features of tissues rather than simply anatomical structure. One common type of dynamic imaging data is produced when rapidly repeated sequential imaging sequences are performed during injection of an ...

Assessment of ameloblastomas using MRI and dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI

European Journal of Radiology, 2005
We retrospectively evaluated magnetic resonance images (MRI) and dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI (DCE-MRI) of ameloblastomas. MRI and DCE-MRI were performed for 10 ameloblastomas. We obtained the following results from the MRI and DCE-MRI. (a) Ameloblastomas can be divided into solid and cystic portions on the basis of MR signal intensities.

Contrast-enhanced MRI versus myelography and contrast-enhanced CT in postdiskectomy problems

European Spine Journal, 1992
The differentiation between scar tissue and disk herniation is essential in postdiskectomy problems of the lumbar spine, since reoperation on scar tissue alone is often unfavourable. Epidural scar is a vascularized tissue, and enhancement can be seen after intravenous contrast injection, allowing differentiation from avascular disk material.

Contrast-enhanced Cardiac MRI in Myocardial Infarction

Heart, Lung and Circulation, 2008
I the setting of acute myocardial infarction initial treatment strategies are primarily focused on the re-establishment of coronary epicardial patency. Upon completion of this, non-invasive imaging modalities facilitate assessment of prognosis and tailoring of further therapy.

Dynamic contrast‐enhanced‐MRI of tumor hypoxia

Magnetic Resonance in Medicine, 2011
AbstractPatients with highly hypoxic primary tumors show increased frequency of locoregional treatment failure and poor survival rates and may benefit from particularly aggressive treatment. The potential of gadolinium diethylene‐triamine penta‐acetic acid‐based dynamic contrast‐enhanced‐MRI in assessing tumor hypoxia was investigated in this ...

Uncertainty estimation in dynamic contrast‐enhanced MRI

Magnetic Resonance in Medicine, 2012
Using dynamic contrast‐enhanced MRI (DCE‐MRI), it is possible to estimate pharmacokinetic (PK) parameters that convey information about physiological properties, e.g., in tumors. In DCE‐MRI, errors propagate in a nontrivial way to the PK parameters. We propose a method based on multivariate linear error propagation to calculate uncertainty maps for the
