Delayed contrast enhancement of MRI in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy

Magnetic Resonance Imaging, 2004
Fibrotic lesions in the myocardium exhibit delayed contrast enhancement (DCE) on MR images. On the other hand, plexiform fibrosis is observed in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), indicating an association of this condition with the pathogenesis of heart failure and arrhythmia.

Ovarian fibroma: findings by contrast-enhanced MRI

Abdominal Imaging, 1997
Ovarian fibromas are solid neoplasms that are difficult to differentiate radiologically from uterine leiomyomas. In this report, we describe the contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging features of a 13-cm-diameter solid pelvic mass that allowed us to make the prospective diagnosis of ovarian fibroma.

Metal Complexes as MRI Contrast Enhancement Agents

2003
Magnetic resonance imaging is one of the most efficient diagnostic modalities in clinical radiology and biomedical research. To enhance image contrast, paramagnetic complexes, mainly Gd3+ chelates, are used. Today, around one third of all medical MR images are generated with the use of a contrast medium and this number is expected to increase with the ...

Dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI of ocular melanoma

Melanoma Research, 2015
Dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI is used for the assessment of microvasculature in several tumours. We aimed to assess the contrast signal enhancement characteristics of ocular melanoma. Forty patients with ocular melanoma were prospectively investigated with ocular MRI including dynamic contrast-enhanced sequences over a 13-month period.

Classic models for dynamic contrast‐enhanced MRI

NMR in Biomedicine, 2013
Dynamic contrast‐enhanced MRI (DCE‐MRI) is a functional MRI method where T1 ‐weighted MR images are acquired dynamically after bolus injection of a contrast agent. The data can be interpreted in terms of physiological tissue characteristics by applying the principles of tracer‐kinetic modelling.

Extracting the Aorta Centerline in Contrast-Enhanced MRI

2017
We propose a semi-automatic approach for aorta centerline extraction in contrast-enhanced MRI, making aorta length analysis feasible on large scale. Starting from user-specified start and end regions, we extract the aorta path in between the regions automatically.

Dynamic contrast enhanced MRI in prostate cancer

European Journal of Radiology, 2007
Angiogenesis is an integral part of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), is associated with prostatic intraepithelial neoplasia (PIN) and is key to the growth and for metastasis of prostate cancer. Dynamic contrast enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI) using small molecular weight gadolinium chelates enables non-invasive imaging characterization

Synthesis and characterization of magnetoliposomes for MRI contrast enhancement

International Journal of Pharmaceutics, 2013
This work assesses the characteristics of magnetoliposomes of soybean phosphatidylcholine (SPC):cholesterol (Chol) loaded with superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (IONPs) stabilized with tetramethylammonium hydroxide (TMAOH) and their capacity to enhance magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) contrast. Magnetoliposomes of SPC were used for comparative

Clinical evaluation of contrast-enhanced digital mammography and contrast enhanced tomosynthesis—Comparison to contrast-enhanced breast MRI

European Journal of Radiology, 2015
To compare the diagnostic accuracy of contrast-enhanced digital mammography (CEDM) and contrast-enhanced tomosynthesis (CET) to dynamic contrast enhanced breast MRI (DCE-MRI) using a multireader-multicase study.Institutional review board approval and informed consents were obtained.
