Crucial parameters for precise copy number variation detection in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded solid cancer samples

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that copy number variations (CNVs) can be reliably detected in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded (FFPE) solid cancer samples using ultra‐low‐pass whole‐genome sequencing, provided that key (pre)‐analytical parameters are optimized.

The Quantitative Effect of Noise and Object Diameter on Low-Contrast Detectability of AAPM CT Performance Phantom Images

open access: yesAtom Indonesia, 2023
Parameters for determining computed tomography (CT) image quality include noise and low-contrast detectability. Studies on low-contrast detectability using the AAPM CT performance phantom have several limitations, such as the absence of quantitative ...

Identification of serum protein biomarkers for pre‐cancerous lesions associated with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This work identified serum proteins associated with pancreatic epithelial neoplasms (PanINs) and early‐stage PDAC. Proteomics screens assessed genetically engineered mice with abundant PanINs, KPC mice (Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐KrasG12D/+ Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐Trp53R172H/+ Pdx1‐Cre) before PDAC development and also early‐stage PDAC patients (n = 31), compared to benign ...

Resolution Comparison of a Standoff Gel Pad Versus a Liquid Gel Barrier for Nasal Bone Fracture Sonography: A Standardized Crossover Study

open access: yesDiagnostics
Background: High-frequency ultrasonography (US) is increasingly used to guide closed reduction in nasal bone fractures, but near-field resolution over the curved nasal dorsum depends critically on the acoustic coupling medium.

Automatic Quantification of Local Plaque Thickness Differences as Assessed by Serial Coronary Computed Tomography Angiography Using Scan-Quality-Based Vessel-Specific Thresholds

open access: yesCardiology and Therapy, 2023
Introduction The use of serial coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA) allows for the early assessment of coronary plaque progression, a crucial factor in averting major adverse cardiac events (MACEs). Traditionally, serial CCTA is assessed using

Outage Capacity of Bursty Amplify-and-Forward with Incremental Relaying

open access: yes, 2010
We derive the outage capacity of a bursty version of the amplify-and-forward (BAF) protocol for small signal-to-noise ratios when incremental relaying is used.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.
