Quantitative Aspects of Contrast Enhancement in Cranial Computed Tomography
Radiology, 1978The temporal relationship of blood iodine levels to tumor enhancement in cranial computed tomography was studied in a series of patients. Both the bolus and biphasic techniques were evaluated. Peak tumor intensity may not develop immediately, but may be more pronounced on a 20-minute scan.

Indications for contrast medium enhancement in computed tomography of the brain
Clinical Radiology, 1977The use of contrast medium enhancement in computed tomography almost doubles the duration of each examination. As the clinical demand is far greater than the scanning time available, it is desirable to use contrast medium with discrimination. The following indications are suggested for extended examinations with contrast: 1.

Contrast-enhanced computed tomography of the gallbladder in acute pancreatitis
Gastrointestinal Radiology, 1984The gallbladder findings encountered in 59 patients examined because of a first attack of acute, alcohol-induced pancreatitis, are reported. Abdominal contrast-enhanced computed tomography was technically acceptable in 54 patients. In 85% of the patients the gallbladder finding was pathological. The density increase in the gallbladder contents was more

Contrast-enhanced computed tomography scanning of the postoperative spine
Surgical Neurology, 1986A prospective study of contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CT) scanning was undertaken for 17 levels previously operated upon in the lumbosacral spine in 14 patients. All levels with prior operations were scanned before and after the administration of intravenous contrast medium.

EFFECT OF CONTRAST MEDIA FORMULATION ON COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY ANGIOGRAPHIC CONTRAST ENHANCEMENT
Veterinary Radiology & Ultrasound, 2008The characteristics of contrast media formulation (mgI/ml, osmolarity, and viscosity) are generally not considered important in computed tomography (CT) angiography in animals. The purpose of this study was to assess the contrast effect in CT angiography as a function of contrast media formulation, with a constant iodine dose.

To compare the enhancement pattern of hilar cholangiocarcinoma on contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) with that on contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CECT).Thirty-two consecutive patients with pathologically proven hilar cholangiocarcinomas were evaluated by both low mechanical index CEUS and CECT.

Basics of Contrast Enhancement in Computed Tomography
1983Since the successful use of contrast media (CMs) to enhance the visibility of certain brain lesions in the first clinical computed tomography (CT) scans, contrast enhancement (CE) has become a standard procedure in most CT examinations. For many years CE was practiced with no systematic approach to optimize the result.

Molecular imaging with dynamic contrast-enhanced computed tomography
Clinical Radiology, 2010Dynamic contrast-enhanced computed tomography (DCE-CT) is a quantitative technique that employs rapid sequences of CT images after bolus administration of intravenous contrast material to measure a range of physiological processes related to the microvasculature of tissues.

Atypical Contrast Enhancement in Computed Tomography of Demyelinating Disease
Archives of Neurology, 1982To the Editor.— The article "Atypical Contrast Enhancement in Computerized Tomography of Demyelinating Disease" by Dr Marano and colleagues in theArchives(1980;37:523-524) dealing with cranial computed tomography (CT) and multiple sclerosis (MS) raises several issues and questions that deserve further comment.
