Fast contrast enhancement by adaptive pixel value stretching
In this article, we propose a fast and effective method for digital image contrast enhancement. The gray-level dynamic range of contrast-distorted images is extended maximally via adaptive pixel value stretching.

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

FUZZY BASED CONTRAST STRETCHING FOR MEDICAL IMAGE ENHANCEMENT [PDF]
Contrast Stretching is an important part in medical image processing applications. Contrast is the difference between two adjacent pixels. Fuzzy statistical values are analyzed and better results are produced in the spatial domain of the input image. The

Diffeomorphic Registration of Images with Variable Contrast Enhancement
Nonrigid image registration is widely used to estimate tissue deformations in highly deformable anatomies. Among the existing methods, nonparametric registration algorithms such as optical flow, or Demons, usually have the advantage of being fast and ...

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

A NON-LINEAR TECHNIQUE FOR THE ENHANCEMENT OF EXTREMELY NON-UNIFORM LIGHTING IMAGES
At night scenes and under nonuniform lighting conditions, either the low intensity areas or the high intensity areas cannot be clearly seen. Various image processing techniques have been developed to recover the meaningful

DCT Underwater Image Enhancement Based on Attenuation Analysis
Underwater images often suffer from color distortion, reduced contrast, and blurred details due to the selective absorption and scattering of light by water, which limits the performance of underwater visual tasks.

β‐TrCP overexpression enhances cisplatin sensitivity by depleting BRCA1
Low levels of β‐TrCP (Panel A) allow the accumulation of BRCA1 and CtIP, which facilitate the repair of cisplatin‐induced DNA damage via homologous recombination (HR) and promote tumor cell survival. In contrast, high β‐TrCP expression (Panel B) leads to BRCA1 and CtIP degradation, impairing HR repair, resulting in persistent DNA damage and apoptosis ...
