The neuroendocrine control of glucose allocation

Experimental and Clinical Endocrinology & Diabetes, 2002
Here we propose that glucose metabolism can be understood on the basis of three concept-derived axioms: (I) A hierarchy exists among the glucose-utilizing organs with the brain served first, followed by muscle and fat. (II) Tissue-specific glucose transporters allocate glucose among organs in order to maintain brain glucose concentrations.

Optimizing nonlinear control allocation

2004 43rd IEEE Conference on Decision and Control (CDC) (IEEE Cat. No.04CH37601), 2004
Control allocation is commonly utilized in overactuated mechanical systems in order to optimally generate a requested generalized force using a redundant set of actuators. Using a control-Lyapunov approach, we develop an optimizing control allocation algorithm in the form of a dynamic update law, for a general class of nonlinear systems.

Control allocation for systems with coplanar controls

AIAA Guidance, Navigation, and Control Conference and Exhibit, 2000
The paper considers the problem of distributing control requirements among multiple, redundant actuators in flight control systems. The direct allocation technique proposed by Durham is studied. The original method assumed that any three columns of the controls effectiveness matrix were linearly independent, hi this paper, the condition is relaxed, so ...

Optimal control allocation for coordinated suspension control

2014 American Control Conference, 2014
This paper is concerned with applying techniques from L 2 -optimal control allocation for the coordinated stabilization and control of vertical vehicle dynamics (roll, pitch, and vertical motion) using active and semi-active suspensions. This is accomplished by designing appropriate high-level controllers and control allocators for multiobjective ...

Vehicle dynamics control and controller allocation for rollover prevention

2006 IEEE Conference on Computer Aided Control System Design, 2006 IEEE International Conference on Control Applications, 2006 IEEE International Symposium on Intelligent Control, 2006
Vehicle rollover accidents are a particularly dangerous form of road accident. Commercial vehicles are especially prone to rollover accidents due to their high centres of gravity. A nonlinear control strategy is presented which guarantees asymptotic tracking of a yaw rate reference while bounding the roll angle, thus preventing rollover.

Adaptive allocation in randomized controlled trials

Controlled Clinical Trials, 1985
Adaptive allocation has been proposed as a procedure to reduce the risk of chance imbalance of important prognostic factors in randomized controlled trials when the number of prognostic factors is large. In this article, minimization, a type of adaptive allocation, is compared to simple randomization and stratified allocation in a series of Monte Carlo

Flying-Wing Aircraft Control Allocation

47th AIAA Aerospace Sciences Meeting including The New Horizons Forum and Aerospace Exposition, 2009
Flying -wing configuration aircraft has multi -control -effector s redundant ly . Especially the innovative drag rudder s a re implemented on it . So the control allocation is s trongly nonlinear and multi -ax es coupl ing . The features and applicabilit y in different flight tasks of several typical control allocation methods were summarized .

Constrained control allocation - Three-moment problem

Journal of Guidance, Control, and Dynamics, 1994
This paper presents a method for the solution of the constrained control allocation problem for the case of three moments. The control allocation problem is to find the "best" combination of several flight control effectors for the generation of specified body-axis moments.

Fault Tolerant Control with Online Control Allocation

2011
This chapter proposes an online sliding mode control allocation scheme for fault tolerant control. The effectiveness level of the actuators is used by the control allocation scheme to redistribute the control signals to the remaining actuators when a fault or failure occurs. The chapter provides an analysis of the sliding mode control allocation scheme
