ATF4‐mediated stress response as a therapeutic vulnerability in chordoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We screened 5 chordoma cell lines against 100+ inhibitors of epigenetic and metabolic pathways and kinases and identified halofuginone, a tRNA synthetase inhibitor. Mechanistically halofuginone induces an integrated stress response, with eIF2alpha phosphorylation, activation of ATF4 and its target genes CHOP, ASNS, INHBE leading to cell death ...

On The Mean Convergence of Biharmonic Functions [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Sciences, Islamic Republic of Iran, 2006
Let denote the unit circle in the complex plane. Given a function , one uses t usual (harmonic) Poisson kernel for the unit disk to define the Poisson integral of , namely .

A priori bounds for truncation error of branched continued fraction expansions of Horn's hypergeometric functions $H_4$ and their ratios

open access: yesResearches in Mathematics
The paper considers the extension of analytic functions by a special family of functions — branched continued fractions. The truncation error bounds for branched continue fraction expansions of the Horn's hypergeometric functions $H_4$ and their ratios ...

Convergent functional genomics of psychiatric disorders [PDF]

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part B: Neuropsychiatric Genetics, 2013
AbstractGenetic and gene expression studies, in humans and animal models of psychiatric and other medical disorders, are becoming increasingly integrated. Particularly for genomics, the convergence and integration of data across species, experimental modalities and technical platforms is providing a fit‐to‐disease way of extracting reproducible and ...

How fast do radial basis function interpolants of analytic functions converge? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The question in the title is answered using tools of potential theory. Convergence and divergence rates of interpolants of analytic functions on the unit interval are analyzed.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

On Properties of the Choquet Integral of Interval-Valued Functions

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2011
Based on the concept of an interval-valued function which is motivated by the goal to represent an uncertain function, we define the Choquet integral with respect to a fuzzy measure of interval-valued functions.

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Dammarenediol II enhances etoposide‐induced apoptosis by targeting O‐GlcNAc transferase and Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling in liver cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Etoposide induces DNA damage, activating p53‐dependent apoptosis via caspase‐3/7, which cleaves PARP1. Dammarenediol II enhances this apoptotic pathway by suppressing O‐GlcNAc transferase activity, further decreasing O‐GlcNAcylation. The reduction in O‐GlcNAc levels boosts p53‐driven apoptosis and influences the Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling pathway ...

Fourier transforms of Lipschitz functions on the hyperbolic plane H2

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 1998
The purpose of the present work is to study the order of magnitude of the Fourier transforms fˆ(λ) for large λ of complex-valued functions f(z) sating certain Lipschitz conditions in the non-Euclidean hyperbolic plane H2.
