(Quasi)-uniformities on the set of bounded maps

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 1994
From real analysis it is known that if a sequence {fn,   n∈ℕ} of real-valued functions defined and bounded on X⊂ℝ converges uniformly to f, then f is also bounded and the sequence {fn,   n∈ℕ}. In the present paper we generalize results as the above using

Reconstructing enzyme evolution by protein engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Natural enzyme evolution can be retraced by protein engineering methods such as directed evolution, rational design, and ancestral sequence reconstruction. These approaches reveal how enzymes emerged from ligand‐binding scaffolds, developed varying substrate preferences, formed oligomeric complexes, adapted to environmental changes, and evolved novel ...

I_2-convergence of double sequences of functions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
In this work, we discuss various kinds of ideal convergence for double sequences of functions with values in R. We introduce the concepts of I_2, I∗_2-pointwise convergence and the concepts of I_2, I∗_2-pointwise Cauchy for double sequences of functions ...

On The Mean Convergence of Biharmonic Functions [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Sciences, Islamic Republic of Iran, 2006
Let denote the unit circle in the complex plane. Given a function , one uses t usual (harmonic) Poisson kernel for the unit disk to define the Poisson integral of , namely .

The Polynomial Pivots as Initial Values for a New Root-Finding Iterative Method

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2015
A new iterative method for polynomial root-finding based on the development of two novel recursive functions is proposed. In addition, the concept of polynomial pivots associated with these functions is introduced.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

A priori bounds for truncation error of branched continued fraction expansions of Horn's hypergeometric functions $H_4$ and their ratios

open access: yesResearches in Mathematics
The paper considers the extension of analytic functions by a special family of functions — branched continued fractions. The truncation error bounds for branched continue fraction expansions of the Horn's hypergeometric functions $H_4$ and their ratios ...

Functions and Convergence [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
A piecewise continuous function f(x) defined on an interval I is bounded (or L ∞) on I if there is a number M > 0 such that |f(x)| ≤ M for all x ∊ I.

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Weak Convergence of Robust Functions on Topological Groups

open access: yesMathematics
This paper introduces weak variants of level convergence (L-convergence) and epigraph convergence (E-convergence) for nets of level functions on general topological spaces, extending the classical metric and real-valued frameworks to ordered codomains ...
