CD9+ B Cells Induce T Follicular Helper Cell Apoptosis to Regulate Germinal Center Regression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A unique subset of CD9+ B cells regulates germinal center B (GC‐B) cell regression by inducing T follicular helper (Tfh) cell apoptosis through multiple signaling pathways, such as ALCAM‐CD6. FOXP1 plays a key role in GC‐B cell differentiation. These findings clarify mechanisms of GC degeneration and termination and offer potential targets for adenoid ...

Dual Role of Tamoxifen in Enhancing STING and CEACAM1 Expression to Prime a Favorable Tumor Microenvironment for Anti‐TIM3 Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Anti‐PD‐1/PD‐L1 blockade has revolutionized cancer immunotherapy, but is ineffective against endocrine‐treated (i.e., Tamoxifen), relapsed ER+ breast cancer (BC) patients. This study provides insight into the sub‐optimal response of ER+BCs to anti‐PD‐1/PD‐L1 blockade – highlighting the induction of STING and the CEACAM1/TIM3 axis after chronic ...

Conversion Surgery for Advanced Pancreatic Cancer [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Medicine, 2019
While primarily unresectable locally advanced pancreatic cancer (LAPC) used to be an indication for palliative therapy, a strategy of neoadjuvant therapy (NAT) and conversion surgery is being increasingly used after more effective chemotherapy regimens have become available for pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma.

Is Conversion a Complication of Laparoscopic Surgery?

Journal of Laparoendoscopic & Advanced Surgical Techniques, 2008
In this paper, we review our laparoscopic and thoracoscopic experience and look specifically at the cases that resulted in conversion.Data were retrieved on all minimally invasive surgical procedures performed in our institution. There were 1,759 cases performed between 1997 and 2007. Of these, 1,648 cases were laparoscopic and 111 thoracoscopic.
