Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

A new polymeric complex of cadmium(II) was synthesized under solvothermal conditions by the reaction of 5-(4-carboxy-5-methyl-1H-1,2,3-triazol-1-yl) isophthalic acid (H3L) with cadmium nitrate tetrahydrate in a mixture of N,N-dimethylacetamide and water.

The reaction of silver nitrate and cafenstrole (N,N-diethyl-3-mesitylsulfonyl-1H-1,2,4-triazole-1-carboxamide), a triazole herbicide, leads to the title coordination polymer, [Ag(NO3)(C16H22N4O3S)]n, whose asymmetric unit comprises one cafenstrole ligand

Coordination Polymer Networks: An Alternative to Classical Polymers? [PDF]
AbstractThis chapter provides a brief overview on metal ion containing coordination polymer networks, how and why they are made, as an alternative to classical polymers. Our focus will be polymorphism, supramolecular isomerism and pseudo‐polymorphism. Examples from our group of metal ion containing coordination polymer networks with flexible molecules ...

Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

In this study, we successfully designed and synthesized a novel one-dimensional Cd(II) coordination polymer, [CdL3]n [HL = 4-acetylphenoxyacetic acid], employing 4-acetylphenoxyacetic acid as both a chelating and bridging ligand.
