High-Potential C112D/M121X (X = M, E, H, L) Pseudomonas aeruginosa Azurins [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Site-directed mutagenesis of Pseudomonas aeruginosa azurin C112D at the M121 position has afforded a series of proteins with elevated Cu^(II/I) reduction potentials relative to the CuII aquo ion.

Interactions between Molten High‐Silicon Electrical Steels and Carbon‐Bonded MgO Refractories Based on Recyclates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study examines how several molten high‐silicon electrical steels interact with both conventional and recycled MgO–C refractories. For this, various immersion experiments are conducted. In addition to infiltration, a number of mechanisms are identified and explained that control the corrosion of the refractory material.

Electrochemical Corrosion Behavior of X70 Steel in Sand Soil Contaminated by Copper(II)

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemical Science, 2016
X70 steel, a common pipeline material for the long distance transport, has been extensively used in many domestic and overseas underground projects, for example “West-East” project of P. R. China. In order to study the effect of heavy metal copper(II) on

Sorption recovery of copper (II) and zinc (II) from chloride aqueous solutions [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Serbian Chemical Society, 2014
The present investigation is devoted to simultaneous sorption recovery of copper (II) and zinc (II) ions on some commercial anion exchangers with different physical-chemical properties. The initial concentrations of zinc and copper were 1-3 mmol

Magnetic characterization of the frustrated three-leg ladder compound [(CuCl2tachH)3Cl]Cl2

open access: yes, 2004
We report the magnetic features of a new one-dimensional stack of antiferromagnetically coupled equilateral copper(II) triangles. High-field magnetization measurements show that the interaction between the copper triangles is of the same order of ...

Simultaneous recovery of metals and degradation of organic species: Copper and 2,4,5-trichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4,5-T) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
In mixed wastewater streams, the presence of metal ions can retard the destruction of organic contaminants and the efficiency of recovery of the metal is reduced by the presence of organic species.

Laser Metal Deposition of Aluminum Alloys 7075 and 5083 with the Addition of Volatile Alloying Elements through Powder Blending

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates laser metal deposition of aluminum alloys EN AW‐7075 and EN AW‐5083, using powder blending to compensate zinc and magnesium evaporation. In situ alloying and ex situ alloying with ZnAl12 and AZ91 preserve near‐standard compositions and improve mechanical properties.

N,N′,N′′ versus N,N′,O imine-containing coordination motifs: ligand-directed synthesis of mononuclear and binuclear CuII compounds

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E: Crystallographic Communications, 2017
It is demonstrated here that tridentate imine ligands can control the nuclearity of copper(II) complexes based on the donor atoms present in the ligand.
