Review of Magnetic Properties and Texture Evolution in Non-Oriented Electrical Steels

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2023
Electrical steels can be classified into two groups: grain-oriented (GO) and non-oriented (NGO) electrical steel. NGO electrical steels are mainly considered as core materials for different devices, such as electric motors, generators, and rotating ...

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

$\mathcal{PT}$ phase control in circular multicore fibers

open access: yes, 2016
We consider light dynamics in a circular multicore fiber with balanced gain and loss core distribution, and show that transition from unbroken to broken $\mathcal{PT}$ phases can be conveniently controlled by geometric twist of the fiber.

HID-1 controls formation of large dense core vesicles by influencing cargo sorting and trans-Golgi network acidification [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Large dense core vesicles (LDCVs) mediate the regulated release of neuropeptides and peptide hormones. They form at the trans-Golgi network (TGN), where their soluble content aggregates to form a dense core, but the mechanisms controlling biogenesis are ...

A Practical Approach for Core Loss Estimation of a High-Current Gapped Inductor in PWM Converters With a User-Friendly Loss Map

open access: yesIEEE transactions on power electronics, 2019
Core loss estimation of filter inductors is increasingly important for modeling and optimizing high-frequency, high-efficiency, and high-density pulsewidth modulation (PWM) power electronic converters.

Multiple ETS family transcription factors bind mutant p53 via distinct interaction regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mutant p53 gain‐of‐function is thought to be mediated by interaction with other transcription factors. We identify multiple ETS transcription factors that can bind mutant p53 and found that this interaction can be promoted by a PXXPP motif. ETS proteins that strongly bound mutant p53 were upregulated in ovarian cancer compared to ETS proteins that ...

Core Loss of MgZn Ferrite.

open access: yesJournal of the Japan Society of Powder and Powder Metallurgy, 1999
The effects of substitution of Mn2O3 for Fe2O3 Or CuO for MgO in MgZn ferrite have been studied in order to achieve low core loss, focusing on the microstructure, the initial permeability and the resistivity of MnZn, MnMgZn, and MnMgCuZn ferrites.Initial permeability and resistivity of both MnMgZn and MnMgCuZn ferrites are higher than those of MgZn ...

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

Nonlinearity Estimation and Compensation for Accurate PMSM Modeling and Voltage Prediction

open access: yesCES Transactions on Electrical Machines and Systems
For permanent magnet synchronous machine (PMSM), the machine model is critical to predict the operating states for motor control, which, however, can be greatly affected by system nonlinearities.
