An Improved Corner Detection Algorithm Based on Gaussian Smoothing

2010 International Conference on Intelligent Computation Technology and Automation, 2010
Corner point is the pixel with a high curvature on image edge. It is a key feature in digital image processing. Through the utilizing of corner points in image processing tasks, the computational complexity can be highly reduced. This paper proposes an improved corner detection algorithm.

Method of Corner Smooth Transition Based on Interpolation Spline

Advanced Materials Research, 2013
Adjustable form cubic interpolation spline curve, changing its form adjustment coefficient can adjust the curvature radius and shape. Using this spline curve can realize the high-speed smooth connecting between adjacent processing trajectory during NC movement.

Smoothness and Corners

1992
We now study the behaviour of the derivative f′ for the case that the image domain G = f(D) has a reasonably smooth boundary C; the general case will be studied in later chapters.

Piecewise smoothness of conjugate homeomorphisms of a circle with corners

Theoretical and Mathematical Physics, 1999
The paper deals with dynamical properties of circle homeomorphisms with corners, that is maps that are smooth everywhere except several singularities where the first derivative is discontinuous. The author considers the orientation-preserving homeomorphism \(T_fx\) of the unit circle, \[ T_fx= \{f(x)\}_f, \qquad x\in S^1= [0,1), \] where the braces ...

Curvature-continuous sharp corner smoothing scheme for Cartesian motion systems

2014 IEEE 13th International Workshop on Advanced Motion Control (AMC), 2014
In general practice, a geometric tool-path for CNC (computer numerical controlled) machine tools or NC positioning systems is mainly composed of linear motion segments, or so called the G1 commands. This approach exhibits serious limitations in terms of achieving the desired part geometry and productivity in high-speed machining.

A numerical method for the heat equation with non‐smooth corner conditions

Communications in Numerical Methods in Engineering, 2001
AbstractIn this paper, we show that a direct application of a high‐order finite difference method to the solution of the heat equation involving non‐smooth corner conditions does not yield high‐order convergence. We also show that, it is sometimes possible to improve the convergence rate by combining the finite difference method with the numerical ...

Robust object tracking with bidirectional corner matching and trajectory smoothness algorithm

2012 IEEE 14th International Workshop on Multimedia Signal Processing (MMSP), 2012
This paper proposes a novel method for robust object tracking. The method consists of three different components: a short term tracker, an object detector, and an online object model. For the short term tracker, we use an advanced Lucas Kanade tracker with bidirectional corner matching to capture object frame by frame.

Noise reduction by using smoothed corner at a duct exit

2005
In this study, the method of a smoothed corner that replaces a commonly used sharp convex corner is employed for noise reduction. The effects of the two parameters — the smoothing angle and the radius of the smoothed surface on the flow structure are investigated. It is found that the larger smoothing angle and the larger radius of the smoothed surface
