Rheumatoid Arthritis and Coronary Artery Calcium Progression: A Case Cohort Analysis From ELSA‐Brasil

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective To investigate the association between rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and coronary artery calcium (CAC) prevalence, incidence, and progression over four years in adults without prior cardiovascular disease. Methods A case‐cohort study within the Brazilian Longitudinal Study of Adult Health (ELSA‐Brasil) included 585 participants (86 patients with ...

Si‐Doped Nanocrystalline Diamond as Highly Sensitive Luminescence Thermometer for the Physiological Temperature Range

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this work, diamonds with negative charged silicon‐vacancy (SiV−) centers have been designed for use as thermometers in biomedical applications. Multiparametric analysis of the emission characteristics of the SiV− centers provides extraordinary sensitivity for temperature detection in the physiological temperature range.

Charge‐Tunable Coacervate Micelles for Separator Engineering in Lithium‐Sulfur Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A separator engineering strategy based on charge‐tunable complex coacervate core micelles (C3Ms) is presented to form an ion‐selective layer regulating polysulfide transport in Li–S batteries. The micelles enable uniform adsorption onto commercial polypropylene separators and infiltration throughout the internal pore network, suppressing polysulfide ...

CORONARY ARTERY CALCIUM FOR RISK STRATIFICATION OF SUDDEN CARDIAC DEATH:THE CORONARY ARTERY CALCIUM CONSORTIUM

open access: yesJournal of the American College of Cardiology, 2022
Coronary artery calcium (CAC) is a marker of plaque burden. Whether CAC improves risk stratification for incident sudden cardiac death (SCD) beyond atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) risk factors is unknown.SCD is a common initial manifestation of coronary heart disease (CHD); however, SCD risk prediction remains elusive. The authors studied

Engineering Nanoplatforms for Alzheimer's Disease Detection via Biomolecular Corona Proteomic and Lipidomic Profiling

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Engineered nanoparticles capture disease‐specific biomolecular coronas that uncover hidden molecular features of Alzheimer's disease. Combined proteomic and lipidomic analyses reveal a characteristic shift in ribosomal machinery and energy metabolism, generating a multiomic fingerprint that supports accurate disease detection and opens new ...

Puntaje de calcio y severidad de la enfermedad coronaria. The calcium score related to coronary disease severity [PDF]
