Nail Disorders in Systemic Conditions

open access: yesJEADV Clinical Practice, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Nail findings in children can be indicative of an underlying systemic disease. Many of these findings are seen in multiple entities and are not specific to one disease. The importance of specifically examining for these nail changes cannot be overstated.

Hemodynamic Significance of APEXCT Coronary Angiography Combined With Dynamic CT Myocardial Perfusion Imaging in Assessing Restenosis After Coronary Stenting

open access: yesThe Kaohsiung Journal of Medical Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study aimed to evaluate the hemodynamic significance of in‐stent restenosis (ISR) by using a combined anatomical‐functional approach with photon‐counting CT coronary angiography (APEX‐CT CTA) and dynamic CT myocardial perfusion imaging (CT‐MPI). We prospectively enrolled 239 symptomatic patients at least 9 months after PCI.

Reference Values for Pulse Oximetry Testing in Permanent Teeth: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesInternational Endodontic Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Pulse oximetry is an accurate diagnostic method for assessing the condition of the dental pulp; however, the normal oxygen saturation levels for each tooth type are yet to be clearly defined. Objectives This systematic review and meta‐analysis aims to answer the question: What are the reference values for pulse oximetry testing in ...

Impact of stentablation with rotational atherectomy in coronary microcirculatory function

open access: yesClinical Case Reports
Key Clinical Message Stentablation (SA) has been used as a bailout method for undilated, under‐expanded stents, but one reason that SA is associated with a high rate of major adverse cardiac events may be its adverse effect on microcirculation ...

Nitric oxide synthase inhibition attenuates cardiac response to hemodilution with viscogenic plasma expander. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Background and objectivesIncreased vascular wall shear stress by elevated plasma viscosity significantly enhances the endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) activity during an acute isovolemic hemodilution.

Effects of imeglimin on experimental diabetic neuropathy in streptozotocin‐induced diabetic rats

open access: yesJournal of Diabetes Investigation, EarlyView.
Imeglimin exerted neuroprotective effects in a type 1 diabetic neuropathy model, improving sensory nerve conduction, sciatic nerve blood flow, and intraepidermal nerve fiber density. In vitro, imeglimin promoted neurite outgrowth in a DRG‐derived hybridoma cell line, supporting a direct neurotrophic action.

Angiotensin II and VEGF are Involved in Angiogenesis Induced by Short-Term Exercise Training [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Results from our laboratory have suggested a pathway involving angiotensin II type 1 (AT1) receptors and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in angiogenesis induced by electrical stimulation.
