An Edible Chitosan‐Based Acoustic Sensor for Sound‐Responsive Actuation in Edible Robots

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces an edible acoustic sensor for robotic food and edible robotics. Built from a chitosan piezoelectric film between gold electrodes, the sensor enables acoustic communication through ON/OFF keying. Integrated into an edible robot with pneumatically actuated arms and neck, it responds to high‐frequency tones.

Spatially Regulated Lithium Plating via Li2O‐Rich Interphase Enables Durable Fast‐Charging Hybrid Lithium Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A Li2O‐rich solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) is engineered on graphite through a propylene carbonate‐based electrolyte to spatially regulate Li plating. The homogeneous interphase lowers Li nucleation barriers, promotes conformal Li deposition around graphite particles, and suppresses dendritic accumulation, enabling durable hybrid Li‐ion/Li‐metal ...

Correlative microscopy

open access: yesArchives of Biochemistry and Biophysics, 2015
In recent years correlative microscopy, combining the power and advantages of different imaging system, e.g., light, electrons, X-ray, NMR, etc., has become an important tool for biomedical research. Among all the possible combinations of techniques, light and electron microscopy, have made an especially big step forward and are being implemented in ...

Correlative Light- and Electron Microscopy with chemical tags

open access: yesJournal of Structural Biology, 2014
Correlative microscopy incorporates the specificity of fluorescent protein labeling into high-resolution electron micrographs. Several approaches exist for correlative microscopy, most of which have used the green fluorescent protein (GFP) as the label for light microscopy.

Correlative microscopy: Providing new understanding in the biomedical and plant sciences

open access: yesMicron, 2012
Correlative microscopy is the application of two or more distinct microscopy techniques to the same region of a sample, generating complementary morphological, structural and chemical information that exceeds what is possible with any single technique ...
