The tribological behavior of 100Cr6 steel spheres textured via Vickers microindentation is evaluated under lubricated sliding by varying both dimple size and density. Fine and dense textures significantly reduce friction across all lubrication regimes, while large dimples increase it.

The Corrosion Behavior of Aluminium
The practical corrosion behavior of aluminum is reviewed for the non-specialist. Included is a discussion of the following topics: the relative nature of corrosion resistance, resistance criteria, factors influencing corrosion rates, common corrosion problems, how to choose an alloy; and galvanic, deposition, crevice and pitting corrosion.

Hot Corrosion Behavior of Superalloy in Different Corrosive Environments
Hot corrosion is a serious problem in aircraft, marine, industrial and land-base gas turbines. To obviate these problems, superalloy superfer 800H (Midhani grade) is one of the prominent materials for the high temperature applications. The present work investigates hot corrosion behaviour of superfer 800H exposed to two different molten salt ...

Laser Powder Bed Fusion of Alumina: Effects of Scanning Strategies on External and Internal Defects
This study investigates how scanning strategies affect pure alumina in laser powder bed fusion. Linear 45° scanning yields uniform surfaces but high porosity, while the island‐concentric strategy provides higher density with through‐holes favorable for infiltration. Findings highlight pathways toward optimizing defect‐free alumina parts.

Powder metal processing provides scalable advantages in nanoporous (np) metal development. Mechanical alloying is used to produce unique precursors for hybrid nanopore formation by oxide reduction and dealloying. As demonstrated in np Ag, this approach improves process efficiency while promoting smaller ligaments and larger pores, both of which are ...
