Abstract This study aimed to determine whether sodium nitrite supplementation prevented chronic stress‐induced cerebrovascular dysfunction and cognitive decline. We hypothesize that nitrite supplementation will prevent the oxidative environment and cerebrovascular dysfunction associated with chronic stress and maintain cognitive health.

Ouabain‐induced hypertension in rats: Mechanisms, variability and translational implications
Abstract Ouabain‐induced hypertension is a multifactorial and condition‐dependent phenomenon involving coordinated actions across vascular, renal and central nervous system pathways. At the vascular level, ouabain inhibits Na⁺/K⁺‐ATPase, particularly the α2‐isoform, leading to elevated intracellular Ca2⁺, enhanced vasoconstriction and structural ...

Antenatal betamethasone impairs markers of cardiac development and function in near‐term lambs
Abstract figure Summary of key molecular differences in the left ventricle of near‐term lambs exposed to antenatal betamethasone, compared to saline. Pregnant ewes received two doses of either saline (Saline) or betamethasone (Betamethasone, intramuscular, 11.4 mg) given 24 h apart, before delivery at 140 days of gestation (dG, term = 150 dG).

Abstract The global prevalence of obesity and related metabolic disorders has spurred interdisciplinary research to develop new intervention strategies. Current research is increasingly focusing on the exercise‐induced browning of white adipose tissue and the mechanisms by which it improves energy metabolism.
