Cottonseed Oil as a Vaginal Contraceptive

The effect of gossypol acetic acid an cottonseed oil emulsion on human spermatozoal motility was tested. Contrary to a recent report [Waller et al. (1980): Contraception 22:183-187] that gossypol acetic acid is harmless to human spermatozoal motility in vitro, 10-3 M gossypol acetic acid completely abolished spermatozoal motility.
