Switched-coupled-inductor inverter

2013 IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition, 2013
A new family of switched-coupled-inductor inverters has been proposed in this paper, with voltage buck-boost function. In voltage-fed switched-coupled-inductor inverter, a boost function can be implemented by introducing an extra shoot-through state on the inverter bridge.

An SIMO Step-Down Converter with Coupled Inductor

2020 International Symposium on VLSI Design, Automation and Test (VLSI-DAT), 2020
Power management IC have been widely used, and due to the development of the process, the number of transistors on the same area has grown, resulting in more sets of output requirements. The single-inductor multi-output power converter not only meets the requirements of multiple sets of voltages today, but also greatly reduces the area and cost of the ...

COUPLED INDUCTORS-BASED CHAOTIC COLPITTS OSCILLATOR

International Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos, 2011
In this paper, a new chaotic circuit is introduced, conceived by considering a Colpitts oscillator with the inclusion of two further elements: a coupled inductor and a variable resistor. The proposed circuit exhibits a rich dynamics that has been experimentally characterized through the bifurcation diagram with respect to the resistor value.

Coupled-inductor analysis and design

1986 17th Annual IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference, 1986
A new coupled-inductor multiple air-gap structure is proposed and analyzed. These EI and EE core configurations eliminate many of the problems associated with the earlier single air-gap structures such as: high sensitivity of ripple currents to air-gap and/or turns ratio changes, complex winding arrangements and consequent high costs and inferior ...

Coupled Inductors and their Applications

2019 International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility - EMC EUROPE, 2019
This article describes the topic of coupled inductors and their EMC advantages when used in switching power supplies. It is explained how a coupled inductor works, which advantages and disadvantages it has and how it can be applied in principle. Furthermore, various DC-DC converter topologies with coupled inductors are explained and a practical example

Predicting magnetic coupling of power inductors

2014 International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility, 2014
This paper proposes a new method to indirectly consider the magnetic material of rod core coils for Partial Element Equivalent Circuit (PEEC) simulations by adapting the number of turns. This way of modeling can be extended to the coupling effects in Common Mode (CM) chokes caused by Differential Mode (DM) currents passing through them.

Reduction of proximity losses in coupled inductors

IEE Proceedings B Electric Power Applications, 1991
The authors present an investigation into the leakage fields and eddy current losses in the windings of inductors and coupled inductors used in high frequency applications. They show that the eddy current losses in the windings can be reduced significantly by the use of distributed airgaps, and that under these conditions the leakage fields are ...

Coupled-Inductor L-Source Inverter

IEEE Journal of Emerging and Selected Topics in Power Electronics, 2017
Coupled-inductor L-source inverter is proposed in this paper. Compared to other existing impedance source inverters, the proposed inverter has a unique advantage that makes the proposed inverter flexibly work in two current modes: continuous conduction mode (CCM) and discontinuous conduction mode (DCM).

Automatic tuning of coupled inductor filters

2002 IEEE 33rd Annual IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference. Proceedings (Cat. No.02CH37289), 2003
A coupled inductor filter is presented with interesting notch mode filtering characteristics. Although this configuration has been long established, it has received little attention. The new contribution of this paper is to provide an automatic tuning process that can make use of the frequency domain characteristics of the coupled inductor building ...

Coupling inductor models for EMI filters

2009 35th Annual Conference of IEEE Industrial Electronics, 2009
This paper analyzes the electrical parameters of differential-mode (DM) and common-mode (CM) inductors used in EMI filters. To design an EMI filter, it is necessary to identify the various parameters of the passive elements: inductors and capacitors. Because of their major impact on filter efficiency, these elements must be identified with accuracy. In
