Coordinated beating of algal flagella is mediated by basal coupling [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, 2016
SignificanceIn areas as diverse as developmental biology, physiology, and biomimetics, there is great interest in understanding the mechanisms by which active hair-like cellular appendages known as flagella or cilia are brought into coordinated motion. The prevailing theoretical hypothesis over many years is that fluid flows driven by beating flagella ...

Design of Coupled Harmonic Oscillators for Synchronization and Coordination

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 2017
Synchronization and coordination of coupled oscillators are fundamental behaviors in complex dynamical systems. This paper considers the design of coupled harmonic oscillators to generate an orbitally stable limit cycle of prescribed oscillation profile.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Coupling Coordination of Coordinated Development Level Between Resource and Environment

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science, 2020
Abstract Environmental problems are drawing more and more attention from all sectors. Considering China’s current development background, it is very important to research the coordinated development level of resources and environment. This paper constructs the coupling index system of resource and environment. Then, we analyze the spatio-

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Investigation of Dynamic Coupling Coordination between Urbanization and the Eco-Environment—A Case Study in the Pearl River Delta Area

open access: yesLand, 2021
The interaction between urbanization and the eco-environment is usually viewed as an effect–feedback framework. Its coupling system is composed of urbanization and eco-environment subsystems.

Towards Coordination-Intensive Visualization Software [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Most coordination realizations in current visualization systems are ''last-minute'' ad-hoc and rely on the richness of the chosen implementation language. Moreover, very few visualization models implicitly consider coordination.

Coordination-Controlled C–C Coupling Products via ortho-Site C–H Activation

open access: yes, 2019
The coordination-restricted ortho-site C–H bond activation and dehydrogenative homocoupling of 4,4′-(1,3-phenylene)dipyridine (1,3-BPyB) and 4,4′-(1,4-phenylene)dipyridine (1,4-BPyB) on different metal surfaces were studied by a combination of ...
