Magnon delocalization in ferromagnetic chains with long-range correlated disorder [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
We study one-magnon excitations in a random ferromagnetic Heisenberg chain with long-range correlations in the coupling constant distribution. By employing an exact diagonalization procedure, we compute the localization length of all one-magnon states ...

High-extinction-ratio silicon polarization beam splitter with tolerance to waveguide width and coupling length variations.

open access: yesOptics Express, 2016
We demonstrate a compact silicon polarization beam splitter (PBS) based on grating-assisted contradirectional couplers (GACCs). Over 30-dB extinction ratios and less than 1-dB insertion losses are achieved for both polarizations.

Tilt-to-length coupling in LISA Pathfinder : Analytical modeling

open access: yesPhysical Review D, 2023
Tilt-to-length coupling was the limiting noise source in LISA Pathfinder between 20 and 200 mHz before subtraction in post-processing. To prevent the adding of sensing noise to the data by the subtraction process, the success of this strategy depended on a previous direct noise reduction by test mass alignment. The exact dependency of the level of tilt-

Magnetodielectric and magnetoelastic coupling in TbFe3(BO3)4 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We have studied the magnetodielectric and magnetoelastic coupling in TbFe3(BO3)4 single crystals by means of capacitance, magnetostriction and Raman spectroscopy measurements.

Spatially coupled turbo codes: Principles and finite length performance [PDF]

open access: yes2014 11th International Symposium on Wireless Communications Systems (ISWCS), 2014
In this paper, we give an overview of spatially coupled turbo codes (SC-TCs), the spatial coupling of parallel and serially concatenated convolutional codes, recently introduced by the authors. For presentation purposes, we focus on spatially coupled serially concatenated codes (SC-SCCs).

Internal Flow Field and Loss Analysis of a Magnetic Drive Pump’s Cooling Circuit

open access: yesEnergies, 2023
The cooling circuit is an important component of the magnetic drive pump because it prevents demagnetization of the permanent magnet and damage to the containment shell owing to a high temperature increase. In this paper, the flow field and losses of the

Coupling efficiency of a partially coherent collimating laser from turbulent biological tissue to fiber

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2019
We propose a model of the fiber coupling efficiency for a partially coherent collimating laser beam propagating through turbulent biological tissue to fiber.

Coupling coefficient calculation and optimization of positive rectangular series coils in wireless power transfer systems

open access: yesHeliyon, 2023
In wireless power transfer (WPT) systems using magnetic coupling resonance, when there is a registration deviation between the transmitting and receiving coils, there will be significant fluctuations in the coupling coefficient, output power, and ...

Tuning the scattering length on the ground triplet state of Cs_2 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
We develop two schemes for tuning the scattering length on the ground triplet state of Cs_2. First, an absolute value of the triplet scattering length of ^{133}Cs_2 is determined using the experimental data (Fioretti et al, Eur.Phys.J. 5, 389 (1999)). We

Universality in Phase Transitions for Ultracold Fermionic Atoms [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
We describe the gas of ultracold fermionic atoms by a functional integral for atom and molecule fields. The crossover from Bose-Einstein condensation (BEC) to BCS-type superfluidity shows universal features in terms of a concentration parameter for the ...
