Diurnal changes of cerebrospinal fluid and global signal coupling
Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) bulk movement around the brain is mediated by brain hemodynamics and has been linked to the brain´s waste clearance process and the so-called glymphatic system.

Synechocystis strains deficient in succinate dehydrogenase (SDH) secrete more succinate than the WT under dark anaerobic conditions, supporting that SDH then primarily acts as SDH, not as a fumarate reductase. L‐aspartate oxidase (Laspo) from Synechocystis is functional under anaerobic conditions, reducing fumarate to succinate.

Metallic magnetic calorimeters based on quantum metrology: Optimal design of thermal coupling system
Metallic Magnetic Calorimeters (MMC) are low-temperature particle detectors based on calorimetry, typically operating at ultra-low temperatures below 100 mK, and they utilize metallic paramagnetic temperature sensors to convert the temperature rise of ...

Droop control method for load share and voltage regulation in high-voltage microgrids
When the line impedance is considered in the microgrid, the accuracy of load sharing will decrease. In this paper, the impact of line impedance on the accuracy of load sharing is analyzed.

RNA‐related functions of BRCA2 in transcription, replication, and genome stability
Beyond its role in homologous recombination, BRCA2 regulates R‐loop homeostasis, DNA–RNA hybrid resolution, RNA polymerase II dynamics, and transcriptional activation. Disruption of any of these functions can contribute to genome instability, inflammatory signaling, and tumorigenesis. BRCA2 is a central tumor suppressor protein best known for its roles

Artificial molecular machines and motors—Design and control of nanoscale motion
Molecules are constantly moving because of thermal fluctuations, but random motion alone cannot be exploited to perform directional tasks. Artificial molecular machines use chemical, electrical, or light energy to bias this motion. Molecular shuttles, rotary motors, and supramolecular pumps illustrate how nanoscale movement can be controlled and ...

Unbiased Injection of Signal-Dependent Noise in Variance-Stabilized Range
<p>The design, optimization, and validation of many image processing or image-based analysis systems often requires testing of the system performance over a dataset of images corrupted by noise at different signal-to-noise ratio regimes.

Noise coupling between through-silicon vias and active devices for 20/14-nm technology nodes
Although a through-silicon via (TSV) is widely used in three-dimensional integrated circuit systems, one of its major design challenges is noise coupling between TSVs and active devices.
