The heterodimeric amino acid transporters (HAT) of the SLC7/SLC3 family: A structure−function relationships and relevance to human pathology

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Heterodimeric amino acid transporters consist of SLC7 and SLC3 family proteins arranged in a conserved structural organization. They regulate nutrient transport across cell membranes, supporting essential cellular functions. These transporters also contribute to xenobiotic/drug uptake and distribution.

Coupling iterated Kolmogorov diffusions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
The Kolmogorov (1934) diffusion is the two-dimensional diffusion generated by real Brownian motion B and its time integral integral B d t. In this paper we construct successful co-adapted couplings for iterated Kolmogorov diffusions defined by adding ...

TDITI: A time-delay information transfer index algorithm for corticomuscular coupling

open access: yesAlexandria Engineering Journal
Time delay (TD) across corticomuscular coupling (CMC) is a significant index to assess the information transmission between brain and muscle during movement execution.

Novel Electro-Optical Coupling Technique for Magnetic Resonance-Compatible Positron Emission Tomography Detectors

open access: yesMolecular Imaging, 2009
A new magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)-compatible positron emission tomography (PET) detector design is being developed that uses electro-optical coupling to bring the amplitude and arrival time information of high-speed PET detector scintillation pulses

Initial Rotor Position Detection for Brushless DC Motors Based on Coupling Injection of High-Frequency Signal

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
In applications where motor inversion is forbidden, it is important to detect the initial rotor position of the motor. For this reason, based on coupling injection of high-frequency signal, a novel method of initial rotor position detection for brushless

Leucine‐rich glioma inactivated 1 (LGI1) is a ganglioside‐binding protein

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neuronal hyperexcitability associated with a decrease/absence of the extracellular protein LGI1 has been suggested to be primarily due to the downregulation of Kv1 channel expression. The molecular mechanisms underlying this decrease have not yet been elucidated.

More efficient second harmonic generation of whispering gallery modes by selective out-coupling

open access: yes, 2017
We demonstrate second harmonic generation (SHG) in an $x$-cut congruent lithium niobate (LN) whispering gallery mode resonator. We first show theoretically that independent control of the coupling of the pump and signal modes is optimal for high ...

A context‐dependent modulatory role for eIF6 in acquired resistance to vemurafenib in melanoma

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Acquired resistance to vemurafenib upregulates the translation factor eIF6 in melanoma cells. Silencing eIF6 in resistant cells reduces proliferation and partially restores drug sensitivity, whereas its overexpression increases sensitivity across melanoma lines regardless of BRAF status, via modulation of mTOR, S6K, and MAPK signaling.

Structural-acoustic coupling and psychophysical effects in the active control of noise in vehicles

open access: yes, 2011
Active noise control systems offer a potential method of reducing the weight of passive acoustic treatment and, therefore, increasing vehicles' fuel efficiency. These can be particularly cost-efficient if integrated with the entertainment system.
