Ultrasound‐Responsive Piezoelectric Fibrous Membrane Promotes Neurological Recovery After TBI by Modulating Microglial Polarization via Restoring Mitochondrial Dynamic Homeostasis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We demonstrate a novel therapy for traumatic brain injury TBI using a LIPUS‐responsive Piezoelectric fibrous membrane. It targets microglial mitochondria via in situ electrical signals, restoring homeostasis and reducing oxidative stress to promote an anti‐inflammatory M2 phenotype.

Ultrasound‐Activatable Piezoelectric Hydrogel Reprograms Mitochondrial Epigenetics for Osteoarthritis Therapy via the mTOR/GATD3A Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An ultrasound‐activatable piezoelectric hydrogel reprograms chondrocyte mitochondrial epigenetics via the mTOR/GATD3A axis, clearing damaged mitochondria and alleviating osteoarthritis progression in both mouse models and human cartilage explants. ABSTRACT The avascular nature of cartilage hinders drug delivery for osteoarthritis (OA) therapy.

Identification of Extrachromosomal Linear microDNAs Interacted with microRNAs in the Cell Nuclei

open access: yesCells, 2019
Extrachromosomal DNA exists in two forms: Covalently closed circular and linear. While diverse types of circular extrachromosomal DNA have been identified with validated in vivo functions, little is known about linear extrachromosomal DNA. In this study,

Amplification of closed circular DNA in vitro

open access: yes, 1997
The polymerase chain reaction is a powerful technique used to amplify nucleic acids in vitro. The reaction produces linear products, and as of yet, closed circular products have not been possible.

A Novel Closed-Circular Mitochondrial DNA with Properties of a Replicating Intermediate [PDF]

open access: yes, 1971
A fraction of the covalently closed mitochondrial DNA in mouse L cells contains a replicated heavy-strand segment that is hydrogen bonded to the circular light strand.

One-year treatment of entecavir results in reduction in intrahepatic covalently closed circular DNA level

open access: yes, 2005
BACKGROUND: Two phase 3, multicenter, double-blind trials on HBeAg-positive and HBeAg-negative patients demonstrate that, compared with lamivudine, entecavir is superior in inducing histologic improvement, serum HBV DNA suppression and transaminase ...

Ultra‐Radiostable Covalent Conformationally Interlocked Networks Enabling a Universal Radiometal‐Labeling Platform for Cancer Radioembolization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Conjugated poly(imide dioxime)‐based microspheres establish a radiometal coordination‐driven conformational interlocked network with ultra‐high radiostability. This platform enables low‐temperature, multi‐radionuclide labeling for SPECT/PET/MRI imaging and radionuclide therapy. Mechanistic insights from EXAFS and DFT reveal enhanced stability, while in

Bioengineered Exosome‐Loaded Immunomodulatory Bioadhesive Spray Reverses Liver Fibrosis and Metabolic Dysfunction That Triggers Beneficial Gut‐Liver Crosstalk in Chronic Fatty Liver Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Umbilical cord stem cell‐derived exosomes encapsulated in an immunomodulatory bioadhesive hydrogel spray enable localized therapy, sustained vesicle delivery, macrophage polarization, suppress systemic inflammation, and mitigate glucose and insulin homeostasis impairments in MAFLD.

Biochemical activities of denatured covalently closed circular duplex DNA.

open access: yesIndian journal of biochemistry & biophysics, 1993
Covalently closed circular duplex DNA when exposed to high alkaline pH followed by neutralization yields a collapsed state structure (form I(d)) that can undergo transition to form I and was susceptible to S1 nuclease. Form I(d), in spite of its compact structure, admits specific cleavage by restriction enzymes over its entire genome.

RPLP2 Mediates the Beneficial Effects of Exercise on Stress Resistance Through Muscle–Brain Communication

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A novel exercise‐inducible myokine acidic ribosomal protein P2 (RPLP2), initially identified from human trials, is presented here, whose circulating levels negatively correlate with clinical anxiety severity. Muscle‐derived RPLP2 enhances hippocampal ribosomal assembly and adult neurogenesis to rescue stress‐induced anxiety deficits.
