Innovative Application of Slider-Crank Mechanism

2018 Internat2018 International Conference on Computation of Power, Energy, Information and Communication (ICCPEIC)ional conference on computation of power, energy, Information and Communication (ICCPEIC), 2018
Slider-Crank is an age-old, well-proven mechanism. In this paper, its application in a manually powered wheelchair is explored. Detailed design is given and a prototype based on the design is also fabricated. It is also compared to existing wheel chairs in the national and international market. Analysis proves that it is better than its counter parts.

Synthesis of optimum slider-crank mechanisms

Mechanism and Machine Theory, 1982
Abstract For the spatial slider-crank mechanism formulas are obtained to allow the user determine the link sizes and slider offset for a predetermined stroke with an acceptable pressure angle at the extremes of slider travel as well as by a given angle between the crosshead guide of the slider and a plane in which the crank revolves.

Mechatronic Redesign of Slider Crank Mechanism

Dynamic Systems and Control, 2002
Mechatronic design efforts have been and continue to be heavily investigated in the development of robotic manipulator arms. However, little effort has been devoted to mechatronic redesign of traditional two-dimensional mechanisms which mechanical engineers get exposure to when they study subjects such as kinematics and mechanism design.

Hypocycloid Gear Mechanism Versus Slider-Crank Mechanism in Engines

Volume 10: 2019 International Power Transmission and Gearing Conference, 2019
Abstract This effort investigates the feasibility of using the Hypocycloid Gear Mechanism (HGM) as an alternative to the conventional slider-crank mechanism for Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) applications. Engines incorporating the conventional slider-crank mechanism are subjected to high frictional power losses mainly due to the ...

Synthesis of spatial slider-crank mechanism for given slider stroke and crank length

Mechanism and Machine Theory, 1973
Abstract With the end positions of the stroke and the radius of the crank specified, the locus of the fixed end of the crank in the plane of crank rotation can be graphically or analytically determined.

Single piece compliant spatial slider–crank mechanism

Mechanism and Machine Theory, 2014
Abstract This paper presents a novel study on the analysis of the “single piece” compliant spatial slider–crank mechanism. In the previous study performed by the authors, a “partially compliant” version of the spatial slider–crank mechanism was introduced.

Partially compliant spatial slider–crank (RSSP) mechanism

Mechanism and Machine Theory, 2011
Abstract In this study, a novel compliant mechanism, “partially compliant spatial slider–crank (RSSP)” is proposed. All possible configurations of compliant RSSP mechanisms are classified and discussed. A method is derived to determine deflection of the multiple-axis flexural hinge for all positions of the crank.

Dynamics of the Generalized Slider-Crank Mechanism

19th Design Automation Conference: Volume 1 — Mechanical System Dynamics; Concurrent and Robust Design; Design for Assembly and Manufacture; Genetic Algorithms in Design and Structural Optimization, 1993
Abstract Dual-number techniques are used to analyze the dynamics of the slider crank mechanism generalized to consider the effects of the cylinder axis being offset and non-perpendicular to the crankshaft axis, conditions which result in reciprocating machinery such as engines and compressors from manufacturing tolerances.

Preliminary Research of Crank-Group Driving Mechanism

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2012
To drive multiple parallel-axis to rotate synchronously, this paper put forward a kind of new transmission mechanism——crank-group driving mechanism, introduced the concept of it and its working principles, and demonstrated the feasibility of its movement .
