Abstract Spat settlement (spat density, recruitment, and mortality) of edible oysters Crassostrea spp. was estimated for three sites (Nunia Chara [NC], Chowfoldandy [CD], and Sonadia Island [SI]) located along the Cox’s Bazar coast of Bangladesh from February 2019 to January 2020 by deploying shellstrings.

Ocurrence of Vibrio spp., positive coagulase staphylococci and enteric bacteria in oysters (Crassostrea gigas) harvested in the south bay of Santa Catarina island, Brazil [PDF]
The aim of this study was to assess the contamination of oysters (Crassostrea gigas), harvested in six different regions of the South Bay of Santa Catarina Island, with Coliforms at 45 ºC, Escherichia coli, Vibrio spp., positive coagulase staphylococci, and Salmonella sp. over a period of one year.

Abstract Triploid Suminoe oysters, Crassostrea ariakensis, are currently being considered for culture on the mid Atlantic coast of the USA. Despite studies comparing the performance of C. ariakensis with the native oyster, Crassostrea virginica, at the grow-out stage, growth and mortality of C. ariakensis and C.

Journal of Invertebrate Pathology, 2014
Brazilian production of bivalve molluscs is small but expanding, especially in the northeastern region where the native oysters Crassostrea rhizophorae and C. gasar are abundant, and tropical weather promotes their rapid growth. Studies on bivalve pathology are scarce in Brazil, with only a few employing techniques for detecting protozoan pathogens ...

Marine Pollution Bulletin
Marine microplastic pollution has become a global ecological and environmental issue. Under ultraviolet radiation in natural environments, microplastics gradually age, resulting in an increased surface area and an enhanced capacity to adsorb pathogenic Vibrio spp. from the water. This poses a serious threat to the survival of marine bivalves.

AbstractThis study determined the incidence, virulence factors, and antimicrobial susceptibility patterns of Vibrio spp. in live oysters (Crassostrea gigas) marketed in Korea. A total of 41 Vibrio spp. isolates including 23 Vibrio alginolyticus, 11 Vibrio fluvialis and 7 Vibrio antiquarius were isolated and identified. All Vibrio spp.

A method integrating dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction (DLLME) with comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography-flame ionisation detection (GC×GC-FID) was developed for the simultaneous extraction, separation, and quantification of major fatty acids (FAs) in Malaysian mangrove oysters.
