pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...

Creep crack initiation and creep crack growth assessments in welded structures

open access: yesNuclear Engineering and Design, 2001
Abstract In this study, creep crack initiation and creep crack growth in welded structure are analysed. An interaction phenomenon between base metal and weld metal in a cross weld plate is highlighted with a finite element model. A simplified method based on the reference stress approach is proposed to evaluate C * in welded structures.

Exploiting metabolic adaptations to overcome dabrafenib treatment resistance in melanoma cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that dabrafenib‐resistant melanoma cells undergo mitochondrial remodeling, leading to elevated respiration and ROS production balanced by stronger antioxidant defenses. This altered redox state promotes survival despite mitochondrial damage but renders resistant cells highly vulnerable to ROS‐inducing compounds such as PEITC, highlighting redox

The Effect of Unloading Path on the Time-Dependent Behavior of Beishan Granite

open access: yesLithosphere, 2022
Understanding the time-dependent characteristics of Beishan granite after excavation is critically important for the long-term stability and disaster control of the high-level radioactive waste repository.

Determination of the residual life time of thin-walled structural elements under high temperature creep [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
A calculation model for evaluation of sub critical crack propagation hightemperature creep in metallic plates is proposed. The model is based on the first low of thermodynamics on energy balance and the balance of energy change velocity in a metallic ...

Therapeutic strategies for MMAE‐resistant bladder cancer through DPP4 inhibition

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We established monomethyl auristatin E (MMAE)‐resistant bladder cancer (BC) cell lines by exposure to progressively increasing concentrations of MMAE in vitro. RNA sequencing showed DPP4 expression was increased in MMAE‐resistant BC cells. Both si‐DPP4 and the DPP4 inhibitor sitagliptin suppressed the viability of MMAE‐resistant BC cells.

A dynamical law for slow crack growth in polycarbonate films [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We study experimentally the slow growth of a single crack in polycarbonate films submitted to uniaxial and constant imposed stress. For this visco-plastic material, we uncover a dynamical law that describes the dependence of the instantaneous crack ...

Creep Crack Growth Test Method and Creep Crack Growth Properties for TiAl Intermetallic Compound.

open access: yesJournal of the Society of Materials Science, Japan, 2000
VAMAS project which aims to establish the standard test method of creep crack growth for creep brittle advanced materials is being conducted. The round robin tests on TiAl intermetallic compound with fully lamellar structure were carried out. Based on the results of round robin, the recommended test method was proposed.

Dammarenediol II enhances etoposide‐induced apoptosis by targeting O‐GlcNAc transferase and Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling in liver cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Etoposide induces DNA damage, activating p53‐dependent apoptosis via caspase‐3/7, which cleaves PARP1. Dammarenediol II enhances this apoptotic pathway by suppressing O‐GlcNAc transferase activity, further decreasing O‐GlcNAcylation. The reduction in O‐GlcNAc levels boosts p53‐driven apoptosis and influences the Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling pathway ...
