Two-year longitudinal evaluation of a second-generation thin-strut sirolimus-eluting bioresorbable coronary scaffold with hybrid cell design in porcine coronary arteries

open access: yesCardiology Journal, 2020
BACKGROUND: The first commercially available bioresorbable scaffold (BRS) had a strut thickness of 156 microns. As such, it had the potential for delivery challenges and higher thrombogenicity.

Red blood cell alloimmunisation in multi-transfused patients from an haemodialysis service in Burkina Faso

open access: yesAfrican Journal of Laboratory Medicine, 2022
Background: In Burkina Faso, red blood cell (RBC) transfusion remains the crucial anaemia treatment following chronic renal failure (CRF) as erythropoietin and its analogues are unavailable.

Measurement of corticotropin-releasing factor (CRF), CRF-binding protein (CRF-BP), and CRF/CRF-BP complex in human plasma by two-site enzyme-linked immunoabsorbant assay. [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, 1996
The actions of human corticotropin-releasing factor (hCRF) in brain, pituitary, and plasma are modulated by a 37-kDa protein [CRF-binding protein (CRF-BP)] that binds to hCRF and neutralizes the peptide's biological activity, suggesting that only the free unbound peptide is biologically active.

Corticotropin‐Releasing Factor (CRF), CRF‐Binding Protein (CRF‐BP), and CRF/CRF‐BP Complex in Alzheimer's Disease and Control Postmortem Human Brain [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Neurochemistry, 1997
Abstract: In Alzheimer's disease (AD) there are dramatic reductions in human corticotropin‐releasing factor (hCRF) concentration and reciprocal increases in CRF receptor density in the cortex. hCRF‐binding protein (hCRF‐BP), hCRF/hCRF‐BP complex, and “free” hCRF were measured in 10 brain regions from control and AD postmortem human tissue.

Independent associations between sedentary time, moderate-to-vigorous physical activity, cardiorespiratory fitness and cardio-metabolic health : a cross-sectional study [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We aimed to study the independent associations of sedentary time (ST), moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA), and objectively measured cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF) with clustered cardio-metabolic risk and its individual components (waist ...

ICSI-CRF [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the 2009 Workshop on Language Generation and Summarisation - UCNLG+Sum '09, 2009
In this paper, we describe our contribution to the Generation Challenge 2009 for the tasks of generating Referring Expressions to the Main Subject References (MSR) and Named Entities Generation (NEG). To generate the referring expressions, we employ the Conditional Random Fields (CRF) learning technique due to the fact that the selection of an ...

Downstream Paclitaxel Released Following Drug-Coated Balloon Inflation and Distal Limb Wound Healing in Swine

open access: yesJACC: Basic to Translational Science, 2021
Summary: The authors evaluated the presence of paclitaxel and healing of distal hind limb wounds created in 27 swine using biopsy punches followed by paclitaxel-coated balloon (PCB) use in the iliofemoral arteries of healthy swine.
