Critical exponents of planar gradient percolation

open access: yes, 2008
We study gradient percolation for site percolation on the triangular lattice. This is a percolation model where the percolation probability depends linearly on the location of the site. We prove the results predicted by physicists for this model.

Vulcanization and critical exponents [PDF]

open access: yesJournal de Physique Lettres, 1979
We consider a particular case of vulcanization of polymer chains in a semi dilute solution where a concentration p of vulcanizing agent has been added. This problem is equivalent to the percolation of elements having a functionality f depending both on the length N of the initial chains and on the monomer concentration C. Our approach allows us to take

Vestibular Patient Journey: Insights From Vestibular Disorders Association (VeDA) Registry

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Vestibular symptoms impose a high burden of disability. Understanding real‐world diagnostic and treatment pathways can identify care gaps and guide interventions. We aimed to characterize symptom profiles, diagnostic trends, provider involvement, and treatment patterns in vestibular disorders.

Critical exponents values for fluids and linear scaled equation of state

open access: yesLittera Scripta, 2011
The behavior of substance in the vicinity of a critical point is the focus of great scienti fic interest. A liquid-liquid phase transition in the supercooled region could influence biochemical or precipitation processes. It is interesting that water in a

Novel scaling behavior of the Ising model on curved surfaces

open access: yes, 2006
We demonstrate the nontrivial scaling behavior of Ising models defined on (i) a donut-shaped surface and (ii) a curved surface with a constant negative curvature.

Paramagnetic Rim Lesions Are Associated With Trans‐Synaptic Degeneration of the Visual Pathway in Multiple Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives Retrograde trans‐synaptic degeneration (rTSD) from posterior visual pathway lesions in multiple sclerosis (MS) is characterized by hemi‐macular ganglion cell‐inner plexiform layer (GCIPL) thinning and contralateral visual field loss.

Critical Exponents and Universality for Fractal Time Processes above the Upper Critical Dimensionality

open access: yesFractal and Fractional
We study the critical behaviors of systems undergoing fractal time processes above the upper critical dimension. We derive a set of novel critical exponents, irrespective of the order of the fractional time derivative or the particular form of ...

Exact Critical Exponents for the Antiferromagnetic Quantum Critical Metal in Two Dimensions

open access: yesPhysical Review X, 2017
Unconventional metallic states which do not support well-defined single-particle excitations can arise near quantum phase transitions as strong quantum fluctuations of incipient order parameters prevent electrons from forming coherent quasiparticles ...

Elevated Connectivity During Language Processing Is Associated With Cognitive Performance in SeLECTS

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Self‐Limited Epilepsy with Centrotemporal Spikes (SeLECTS) is associated with language impairments despite seizures originating in the motor cortex, suggesting aberrant cross‐network interactions. Here we tested whether functional connectivity in SeLECTS during language tasks predicts language performance.

Critical exponents of the anisotropic Bak-Sneppen model

open access: yes, 1998
We analyze the behavior of spatially anisotropic Bak-Sneppen model. We demonstrate that a nontrivial relation between critical exponents tau and mu=d/D, recently derived for the isotropic Bak-Sneppen model, holds for its anisotropic version as well.
