Experimental investigation of non-uniform heating on flow boiling instabilities in a microchannels based heat sink

open access: yes, 2009
Two-phase flow boiling in microchannels is one of the most promising cooling technologies able to cope with high heat fluxes generated by the next generation of central processor units (CPU).

Experimental Study of Carbon Dioxide Boiling Crisis in Near-critical Natural Circulation

open access: yesYuanzineng kexue jishu
Carbon dioxide is utilized as a direct coolant in micro-modular gas-cooled fast reactor cycle systems. The supercritical carbon dioxide cycle systems are attracted widespread attention for their compact design and high operating efficiency.

Three phosphatase families form a community: The phosphohydrolases that act upon inositol pyrophosphates

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Inositol pyrophosphates are energy‐rich signaling molecules that perform critical functions in cells. Three different families of phosphatases hydrolyze the β phosphate of the inositol pyrophosphate molecules: two have narrow specificities and one is promiscuous.

Prediction of Critical Heat Flux of Mixtures Flowing in Channels

open access: yes, 2023
Boiling of mixtures in channels is involved in many chemical processes, and refrigerant mixtures are finding a rapidly increasing use in the refrigeration industries. Hence, reliable prediction of CHF (critical heat flux) is needed. There is no published

Experimental study of bubble behaviors and CHF on printed circuit board (PCB) in saturated pool water at various inclination angles

open access: yesNuclear Engineering and Technology, 2018
Experiments were performed to investigate bubble behaviors and pool boiling Critical Heat Flux (CHF) on a thin flat rectangular copper heater fabricated on Printed Circuit Board (PCB), at various inclination angles. The surface inclination angles were 0°,

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

An experimental study of critical heat flux with surface modification and its analytic prediction model development [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The critical heat flux (CHF) condition causes a drastic reduction of heat transfer coefficient and sometimes involves physical failure of the heating surface in heat flux-controlled systems.

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

An experimental study of thermocapillary rupture of a locally heated horizontal liquid layer on various substrates

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2017
This article experimentally studies a thermocapillary rupture of a locally heated horizontal liquid film on substrates of different materials and different thickness. In the course of work the dependence of the critical heat flux on the initial and final
