Regulating Solvent‐Separated Ion Pairs to Control Polysulfide Redox for Fast and Stable Room‐Temperature Na‐S Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A local high‐concentration electrolyte with tailored solvent‐separated ion pairs is pioneered to design for room‐temperature sodium‐sulfur batteries. This electrolyte allows sparingly dissolved polysulfides and localizes them onto reactive interfaces for liquid‐solid conversion.

Interest Convergence, Intersectionality, and Counter-Storytelling: Critical Race Theory as Practice in Scholarly Communications Librarianship

open access: yesIn the Library with the Lead Pipe
Despite diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) rhetoric in librarianship, library workers who are Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) are still underrepresented and marginalized.

Sustainable KCl‐Assisted PbI2 Recycling for High‐Performance Quantum Dot Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An additive‐assisted lead recycling strategy is developed by introducing trace KCl during PbI2 recrystallization from spent lead‐acid batteries. KCl regulates crystallization and impurity removal, yielding high‐purity PbI2 and enabling the formation of colloidally stable PbS and CsPbI3 quantum dots.

Beyond the Threshold: Conformity, Resistance, and the ACRL Information Literacy Framework for Higher Education

open access: yesIn the Library with the Lead Pipe, 2015
In Brief: The recently adopted ACRL Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education has generated much critique and discussion, including many important reflections on the nature of information literacy and librarianship itself.

A Functionality‐Graded Cathode Electrolyte Interphase Enables Ultra‐Long Cycling Stability in Aqueous Zn–Mn Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Through the interfacial reaction of KH2PO4, a functionally graded CEI with hydrated, organic, and inorganic layers is constructed. This suppresses interfacial water corrosion, mitigates volume stress, and promotes charge carrier transport, achieving superior battery stability.

Ultra‐Thin Hybrid Ion Exchange Interlayer for High Performance Aqueous Zn Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An ultra‐thin SPEEK/FCD ion‐exchange interlayer modulates the Zn2+ solvation environment (–SO3−), provides ion‐exchange pathways that homoginized the Zn2+ flux, and via F‐rich chemistry forms in situ ZnF2 that suppresses parasitics and stabilizes the interface; its integrity relieves interfacial stress.

Directional Regulation of Zinc Deposition Through Constructing Hierarchical Janus Carbon Matrix with Organic‐Decorated Multi‐Channels

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A Janus carbon matrix is engineered by covalently anchoring organic sulfonic anions within tubular pores of hierarchical CMK‐5, serving as an interfacial layer for Zn metal anodes. This design establishes a charge gradient for Zn2+ diffusion, enabling the directional deposition of confined and uniform Zn inside the pores while suppressing parasitic ...

Tunable Negative Thermal Expansion in Fe/Cr‐Substituted Nd2Co17 Compounds via Magnetoelastic Coupling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study achieves anisotropic thermal expansion tuning in Nd2(Co1‐xFex)17‐yCry compounds via a magnetoelastic strategy. Variable‐temperature synchrotron X‐ray diffraction reveals that increased Fe content induces switchable lattice responses. Compositional control reduces the volume expansion coefficient αV by 20% (x═0.7) and modulates TC (442–625 K),
