Health care providers, purchasers, and insurers are struggling to manage the cost of health care while maintaining the quality of care. Alliant Health System has incorporated Total Quality Management (TQM) and the Critical Path Process throughout the corporation as a managed care strategy to deliver cost-effective quality care.

FPGA partitioning for critical paths
Proceedings of European Design and Test Conference EDAC-ETC-EUROASIC, 2002FPGA packages have maximum size constraints much larger than the number of IO pins. The resulting IO bottleneck during circuit partitioning means more required packages and more ordinary signal wires crossing between the packages. This cuts more critical timing paths between packages and drastically decreases the circuit operational frequency.

Critical-path planning and scheduling
Papers presented at the December 1-3, 1959, eastern joint IRE-AIEE-ACM computer conference on - IRE-AIEE-ACM '59 (Eastern), 1959Among the major problems facing technical management today are those involving the coordination of many diverse activities toward a common goal. In a large engineering project, for example, almost all the engineering and craft skills are involved as well as the functions represented by research, development, design, procurement, construction, vendors ...

The critical path for multiple faults
1989 IEEE International Conference on Computer-Aided Design. Digest of Technical Papers, 2003The critical path technique for determining the single stuck-at faults detected by a test is extended to multiple faults by defining masking paths. A masking tree is used to represent the masking relationships among individual faults. These relationships are then used to determine which multiple faults are actually detected by a test. >

There have been several attempts in the literature to apply fuzzy numbers to the critical path method. The result delivers the earliest expected time for each event of the project. This paper shows that further extension can be made by considering the interactive fuzzy subtraction and by observing that only the nonnegative part of the fuzzy numbers can

This philosophic inquiry into fundamental problems of literature and society is an immensely important addition to the canon of one of America’s most original and distinguished critics. What is the function of poetry? Of criticism? In what sense does the poet "know"? What is the relationship between a society and its art?

An efficient parallel critical path algorithm
IEEE Transactions on Computer-Aided Design of Integrated Circuits and Systems, 1991The problem of identifying one of the longest sensitizable paths in a circuit is called a critical path problem. Several critical path algorithms have been proposed in the last few years. However, due to the long computation time required to produce accurate results, these algorithms may not be able to generate any result for large designs with many ...

Critical path selection for performance optimization
IEEE Transactions on Computer-Aided Design of Integrated Circuits and Systems, 1991The problem of selecting a set of paths to optimize the performance of a combinational circuit is studied, assuming that gate resizing and buffer insertion are the two possible optimizing techniques for reducing the delay of a circuit. The objective of the path selection problem is to select as small as possible a set of paths to ease the optimization ...

A Novel Algorithm for Critical Paths
2009 WRI World Congress on Computer Science and Information Engineering, 2009The problem of finding all the critical paths is a mathematics based algorithm for scheduling a set of project activities. A new algorithm to find all the critical paths for an AOE Network is presented in this paper. With this algorithm, topological inverted sequence scanning is not required again. A predecessors list is designed for each event node to

Since January 1990, surgeons have been able to make their incision within 15 minutes of the scheduled time. Total joint procedures, craniotomies, open heart surgery, and thoracic surgeries have had incision times within 15 minutes of the critical path timetable. Daily analysis of activity is done by reviewing the time study. The monthly delay report is
