AMF Inoculation Modulates Plant Physiology, Rhizosphere Processes, and Uranium Uptake in Sunflower Under Uranium Stress

open access: yesHorticulturae
Sunflower (Helianthus annuus) can potentially be used for uranium (U) phytoremediation. However, the influence of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) on key rhizosphere processes and plant U uptake remains insufficiently researched.

GROWTH OF LARCH CROPS ON CRYOLOTHOZONE YAKUTIA

Mycobacterial cell division arrest and smooth‐to‐rough envelope transition using CRISPRi‐mediated genetic repression systems

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing and phenotypic exploration in nontuberculous mycobacteria. In this Research Protocol, we describe approaches to control, monitor, and quantitatively assess CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing in M. smegmatis and M. abscessus model organisms.

CRISPR/Cas9-Mediated Knockout of BnaFAH Enhanced Brassica napus Resistance to Plutella xylostella Under a 2-Day Short-Day Photoperiod

open access: yesHorticulturae
The diamondback moth (Plutella xylostella) severely threatens global oilseed rape (Brassica napus L.) production. This study demonstrates that CRISPR/Cas9-mediated knockout of two homologous BnaFAH, involved in tyrosine degradation, confers enhanced ...

Nuclear pore links Fob1‐dependent rDNA damage relocation to lifespan control

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Damaged rDNA accumulates at a specific perinuclear interface that couples nucleolar escape with nuclear envelope association. Nuclear pores at this site help inhibit Fob1‐induced rDNA instability. This spatial organization of damage handling supports a functional link between nuclear architecture, rDNA stability, and replicative lifespan in yeast.

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.
