Growth Dynamic of Sugarcane Cultivars C97-366 and C99-374 for Forage Production

open access: yesAgrisost, 2021
Context: Plant growth analysis is a valuable tool to detect biomass formation and accumulation. The determination of growth indexes enables plants to adapt to different edaphoclimatic conditions, and to select the most promising responses among them ...

Improving Rice Yield by Promoting Pre-anathesis Growth in Subtropical Environments

open access: yesAgronomy, 2023
Rice yield is greatly influenced by climatic factors and soil fertility in the location where it is grown, but information about the individual effects of climatic factors and soil fertility variables is difficult to distinguish because they are often ...

Standing crop and growth rate of Ulva pertusa on an intertidal flat.

open access: yesNIPPON SUISAN GAKKAISHI, 1987
Distribution of Ulva pertusa in an intertidal flat in Mikawa Bay was investigated visually from a boat and aerially with a multi spectral scanner from a plane in the summer of 1985. The values of standing crop and vegetation area estimated from these two methods agreed well.

Structural insights and therapeutic targets in Acinetobacter baumannii capsule biosynthesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Hypervirulent KL49 A. baumannii's capsular polysaccharide contains the nonulosonic acid 8‐epi‐Leg5,7Ac2, synthesized by epimerization via ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC. Crystal structures of ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC reveal their role in CMP‐Leg5,7Ac2 synthesis and regioselective C8 epimerization.

Geosensors to Support Crop Production: Current Applications and User Requirements

open access: yes, 2011
Sensor technology, which benefits from high temporal measuring resolution, real-time data transfer and high spatial resolution of sensor data that shows in-field variations, has the potential to provide added value for crop production.

Modelling diverse root density dynamics and deep nitrogen uptake — a simple approach [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We present a 2-D model for simulation of root density and plant nitrogen (N) uptake for crops grown in agricultural systems, based on a modification of the root density equation originally proposed by Gerwitz and Page in J Appl Ecol 11:773–781, (1974). A

The effects of different densities of pigweed (Amaranthus retroflexus) on growth indices of soybean (Glycine max L.)

open access: yesپژوهشهای زراعی ایران, 2009
To evaluate the interference of Red Root pigweed on growth indices of soybean cultivars an experiment was carried out in Research, Breeding and Providing of Seedling and Seed of Karaj institute during growing season of 2002.

Three phosphatase families form a community: The phosphohydrolases that act upon inositol pyrophosphates

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Inositol pyrophosphates are energy‐rich signaling molecules that perform critical functions in cells. Three different families of phosphatases hydrolyze the β phosphate of the inositol pyrophosphate molecules: two have narrow specificities and one is promiscuous.

PEANUT PLANT NUTRIENT ABSORPTION AND GROWTH

open access: yesRevista Caatinga, 2017
The chemical composition and the accumulation of nutrients in stems, leaves and fruits are essential information to meet the nutritional requirements of a peanut crop. Thus, the goals of the present study were to evaluate the rate of absorption of macro-
