Impact of cropping system on mycorrhiza [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
The impact of cropping system on field communities of mycorrhizal fungi was studied utilising a long-term experiment on a loamy soil. Two contrasting crop rotations each with two fertilisation regimes were compared. The conventional crop rotation (barley-

Recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming and confer resistance to targeted therapies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that the majority of the 18 analyzed recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming. The most potent mutations are activating, co‐operate with other ERBB receptors, and are sensitive to pan‐ERBB inhibitors. Activating ERBB4 mutations also promote therapy resistance in EGFR‐mutant lung cancer.

Crop growth model‐enabled genetic mapping of biomass accumulation dynamics in photoperiod‐sensitive sorghum

open access: yesThe Plant Genome
Crop growth rate is a critical physiological trait for forage and bioenergy crops like sorghum [Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench], influencing overall crop productivity, particularly in photoperiod‐sensitive (PS) types.

PEANUT PLANT NUTRIENT ABSORPTION AND GROWTH

open access: yesRevista Caatinga, 2017
The chemical composition and the accumulation of nutrients in stems, leaves and fruits are essential information to meet the nutritional requirements of a peanut crop. Thus, the goals of the present study were to evaluate the rate of absorption of macro-

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

THE IMPLICATIONS OF AN EXPORT TAX ON SECTORAL GROWTH: A CASE IN PAKISTAN [PDF]

open access: yes
Impacts of an export tax on growth in the cotton and yarn markets were examined. Results of a simulation show that the export tax on raw fiber decreased the rate of growth in the fiber sector by 80%, and also decreased growth in yarn production by 0.7 ...

Tillage Radish Planting Date x Seeding Rate Trial [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Farmers are interested in growing tillage radishes as they may potentially offer many environmental and economic benefits. Tillage radishes are quick at scavenging excess nitrogen, provide good ground cover, and break down very quickly in the spring to ...

Combining antibody conjugates with cytotoxic and immune‐stimulating payloads maximizes anti‐cancer activity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Methods to improve antibody–drug conjugate (ADC) treatment durability in cancer therapy are needed. We utilized ADCs and immune‐stimulating antibody conjugates (ISACs), which are made from two non‐competitive antibodies, to enhance the entry of toxic payloads into cancer cells and deliver immunostimulatory agents into immune cells.
