Effect of Texel crossbreeding on productive traits, carcass and meat quality of Segureña lambs.

open access: yesThe Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, 2019
BACKGROUND The present study aimed to assess the effect of crossbreeding a local breed (Segureña, S × S) with Texel as the sire line (Texel × Segureña crossbred, T × S) on productive traits and meat quality attributes.

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Use of ridge regression for the prediction of early growth performance in crossbred calves

open access: yesGenetics and Molecular Biology, 2007
The problem of multicollinearity in regression analysis was studied. Ridge regression (RR) techniques were used to estimate parameters affecting the performance of crossbred calves raised in tropical and subtropical regions by a model including additive,

Conservation and transmission of seed bacterial endophytes across generations following crossbreeding and repeated inbreeding of rice at different geographic locations

open access: yesMicrobiologyOpen, 2018
There are comparatively diverse bacterial communities inside seeds, which are vertically transmitted and conserved, becoming sources of endophytes in the next generation of host plants.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Pesos e relações de peso de bezerros filhos de vacas nelore e cruzadas canchim x nelore Weight and weight ratios of calves out of straightbred nellore and crossbred canchim x nellore cows

The egg fertility from offspring of crossbreeding results of Bangkok chickens and laying hens

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Earth and Environment, 2020
This study aims to determine the weight, fertility, and hatchability of eggs from the crossbreeding between laying hens and Bangkok chickens. The material used consisted of 15 females of Bangkok chicken, 15 females of laying chicken, 3 males of Bangkok ...

Characterizing the salivary RNA landscape to identify potential diagnostic, prognostic, and follow‐up biomarkers for breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.
