Crosslinking of agar by diisocyanates

Carbohydrate Polymers, 2018
In the present study, crosslinking of agar using diisocyanate (DI) was demonstrated to limit the high water absorption property of agar. In addition, the efficacy of aromatic diisocyanate, DDI (4, 4 diphenyl diisocyanate) and aliphatic diisocyanate, HDI (1, 6 hexamethylene diisocyanate) on crosslinked agar properties was compared.

Crosslinking Methods: Purification and Analysis of Crosslinked Dynein Products

2009
Axonemal dyneins are multi-megadalton complexes which consist of heavy chains (HCs), intermediate chains (ICs), and light chains (LCs). The configuration and interactions among the many components within the dynein complex are not fully understood. For initial investigation of protein-protein interactions, chemical crosslinking can be easily applied to

Lysis of Crosslinked and Non-Crosslinked Purified Fibrin

Thrombosis and Haemostasis, 1975
Several authors have reported that cross-linking by Factor XIII makes fibrin less susceptible to lysis by fibrinolytic enzymes, especially to plasminogen activators. However, the conclusions of most of these studies have been based on circumstantial evidence. To unambiguously establish a possible effect of cross-linking of fibrin on its resistance to ...

Stable crosslinks of collagen

Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1973
Abstract It has recently been proposed that the syndesine crosslinks of collagen possess their unique stability because they can isomerize to a α-keto-amine. Although this type of isomerization is perfectly feasible for α-hydroxy-aldimines like syndesine, the present studies suggest that the amount of α-keto-amine present in some tissues is far too ...

Inhomogeneities Induced by Crosslinking in the Course of Crosslinking Copolymerization

1971
Heterogeneous gels are formed as a result of phase separation during copolymerization of 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate with ethylene dimethacrylate and styrene with divinylbenzene in the presence of various diluents. Phase separation is induced by an increase of the degree of crosslinking and possible change of the polymer-diluent interaction and takes ...
