Crowd simulation rendering for web

Proceedings of the 20th International Conference on 3D Web Technology, 2015
Simulation and rendering of large crowds are very demanding tasks on computational resources and until recently were inconceivable to be performed by a web browser. However, with the increasing capacity of GPUs and the maturation of web front-end development, could a web-based simulation of massive crowds be achieved in real-time in today's web ...

Up close with simulated crowds

ACM SIGGRAPH 2018 Talks, 2018
We discuss advancing the fine detail of deforming hero-quality simulated crowd agents in animated feature film production. To support character animation that is suitably framed arbitrarily close to camera, our approach uses a novel deformation system that combines simulation and hero-quality custom animation.

Virtual Crowds: An LSTM-Based Framework for Crowd Simulation

2019
Social modeling of pedestrian dynamics is a key element to understand the behavior of crowded scenes. Existing crowd models like the Social Force Model and the Reciprocal Velocity Obstacle, traditionally rely on empirically-defined functions to characterize the dynamics of a crowd.

Density constraints for crowd simulation

2009 International IEEE Consumer Electronics Society's Games Innovations Conference, 2009
Virtual worlds are nowadays commonly used in interactive applications, like computer games and simulations. Typically, such worlds are populated by a large number of virtual characters. On one hand, these characters have global goals with respect to the environment and thus, they must be able to plan their paths toward their desired locations.

Destination Flow for Crowd Simulation

2012
We present a crowd simulation that captures some of the semantics of a specific scene by partly reproducing its motion behaviors, both at a lower level using a steering model and at the higher level of goal selection. To this end, we use and generalize a steering model based on linear velocity prediction, termed LTA.

Behavior-graph for crowd simulation

ACM SIGGRAPH 2007 posters, 2007
Computer generated crowds can be found in films, commercials, computer games and other virtual environment applications. Usually, crowd simulation techniques, such as [Treuille et al. 2006; Lerner et al. 2007] focus on controlling the direction and speed of the simulated agents, aiming at generating realistic crowds at the trajectory level.

Motion retargeting for crowd simulation

Proceedings of the 2015 Symposium on Digital Production, 2015
CG Crowds have become increasingly popular this last decade in the VFX industry: formerly reserved to only a few number of high end studios and blockbusters, crowd simulation is now widely used in TV shows or commercials. In a context where budget and time constraints increase at each project, quality requirements stay the same: generate believable ...

Fast-Forwarding Crowd Simulations

2016
The processing time to simulate crowds for games or simulations is a real challenge. While the increasing power of processing capacity is a reality in the hardware industry, it also means that more agents, better rendering and most sophisticated Artificial Intelligence (AI) methods can be used, so again the computational time is an issue.

A General Simulation Framework for Crowd Network Simulations

Proceedings of the 4th International Conference on Crowd Science and Engineering, 2019
Crowd network systems have been deemed as a promising mode of modern service industry and future economic society, taking crowd network as the research object and exploring its operation mechanism and laws is of great significance for realizing the effective governance of the government and the rapid development of economy, avoiding social chaos and ...
