Clinical Profiles and Therapeutic Interventions in Occult Paraquat Poisoning: A Comparative Report of Two Cases

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Delayed diagnosis invariably worsens outcomes in occult paraquat poisoning regardless of exposure route. Implement early urinary screening for suspected cases. Tailor antioxidant and anti‐fibrotic timing to toxicokinetic patterns to mitigate irreversible pulmonary damage.

Prognostic Value of the C‐Reactive Protein × Platelet‐to‐Lymphocyte Ratio for 28‐Day Mortality in Patients With Sepsis: A Retrospective Cohort Study

open access: yesHealth Science Reports, Volume 9, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims Inflammatory and hematologic biomarkers are commonly used for early risk assessment in sepsis. The C‐reactive protein × platelet‐to‐lymphocyte ratio (CPL) integrates systemic inflammation, platelet‐related thromboinflammation, and lymphocyte‐associated immune suppression. This study aimed to evaluate the association between

Application of continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) in patients with severe acute pancreatitis: an analytical study

open access: yesBMC Gastroenterology
Purpose To Explore the correlation between Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) and the prognostic outcomes of patients with Severe Acute Pancreatitis (SAP); to analyze the impact of CRRT initiation time on the final prognosis of SAP patients; to ...

Fluid removal associates with better outcomes in critically ill patients receiving continuous renal replacement therapy: a cohort study

open access: yesCritical Care, 2020
Background Fluid overload is associated with morbidity and mortality in patients receiving renal replacement therapy (RRT). We aimed to explore whether fluid overload at initiation of RRT was independently associated with mortality and whether changes in

Impact of Prior Angiotensin‐Converting Enzyme Inhibitor and Angiotensin II Receptor Blocker Use on Delirium Incidence in ICU Patients: A Retrospective Study

open access: yesHealth Science Reports, Volume 9, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims This investigation aimed at exploring the impact that the pre‐existing use of angiotensin‐converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEIs) and angiotensin II receptor blockers (ARBs) has on the incidence of delirium in patients within the intensive care unit (ICU).

Predictors of Brain Infarction in Pediatric Patients During Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation

open access: yesArtificial Organs, Volume 50, Issue 6, Page 909-916, June 2026.
In 179 pediatric ECMO patients, brain infarction (BI) occurred in 28% and was linked to markedly higher 30‐day mortality. VA ECMO mode (vs. VV) and higher pre‐ECMO arterial lactate independently predicted BI, supporting standardized neuro‐monitoring and liberal early brain CT, especially for children on VA ECMO.

A Prospective Observational Study on the Predictive Value of Serum Cystatin C for Successful Weaning from Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy

open access: yesKidney & Blood Pressure Research, 2018
Background/Aims: There is a paucity of literature that investigates a biomarker associated with successful renal recovery following continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT). Our study aimed to identify potential renal biomarkers or clinical indicators

Temporal Dynamics of Viremia in Hemorrhagic Fever With Renal Syndrome Patients

open access: yesJournal of Medical Virology, Volume 98, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT The pathogenesis of hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS) remains incompletely understood. Currently, the clinical diagnosis of HFRS primarily relies on epidemiological history and clinical presentation, while the confirmation of HFRS depends mainly on the detection of hemorrhagic fever antibodies.
