Effects of Organotins on Crustaceans: Update and Perspectives
Organotins (OTs) are considered some of the most toxic chemicals introduced into aquatic environments by anthropogenic activities. They are widely used for agricultural and industrial purposes and as antifouling additives on boat hull’s paints.

Dscam1 in Pancrustacean Immunity: Current Status and a Look to the Future
The Down syndrome cell adhesion molecule 1 (Dscam1) gene is an extraordinary example of diversity: by combining alternatively spliced exons, thousands of isoforms can be produced from just one gene. So far, such diversity in this gene has only been found

Sterol composition of shellfish species commonly consumed in the United States
Background: Shellfish can be a component of a healthy diet due to a low fat and high protein content, but the cholesterol content of some species is often cited as a reason to limit their consumption. Data on levels of non-cholesterol sterols in commonly

Enormous diversity of RNA viruses in economic crustaceans
Crustaceans are important food sources worldwide and possess significant ecological status in the marine ecosystem. However, our understanding of the diversity and evolution of RNA viruses in crustaceans, especially in economic crustaceans, is still ...

Pattern recognition receptors in Crustacea: immunological roles under environmental stress
Innate immunity is the first line of defense against infections and the only known available strategy for invertebrates. Crustaceans, being mostly aquatic invertebrates, are constantly exposed to potential pathogens in the surrounding water. Their immune

An Edible H2O2 Biosensor for Gastrointestinal Metabolites and Peroxidase Enzyme Quantification
We present an edible biosensor for gastric fluid analysis that integrates a caffeic acid–horseradish peroxidase redox system into an edible electrolyte‐gated transistor. The device enables rapid, low‐volume detection of H2O2 and, with minimal modification, metabolites and enzyme activity in simulated gastrointestinal conditions.
