MODELING OF THE KINETICS OF CRYOGENIC FREEZING OF LIMA BEAN SEEDS AS A FUNCTION OF INITIAL WATER CONTENT [PDF]

open access: yesEngenharia Agrícola
Cryopreservation is a technique used to preserve genetic material at ultra-low temperatures in cryogenic germplasm banks. In order to enable the cryopreservation of a seed, it is necessary to study its appropriate freezing temperature and its water ...

Evaluation of different factors affecting the efficiency of oocytes cryopreservation in the bovine model

open access: yes, 2011
Interest in oocyte cryopreservation has recently increased. Cattle oocytes are sensitive to low temperatures, and despite the efforts of numerous research groups cryopreservation of oocytes remains a difficult task.

Dietary Glutamine Supplementation Alleviated Rumen Epithelium Oxidative Damage and Apoptosis Induced by Feed Restriction via Maintaining Mitochondrial Homeostasis in Female Yaks

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
Dietary glutamine (Gln) supplementation increased the ATP levels and promoted cell proliferation in the rumen epithelium of feed‐restricted yaks. Besides, Gln inhibited ROS accumulation and reduced oxidative damage and apoptosis in the rumen epithelium of feed‐restricted yaks.

Freezing the Biological Clock: A Viable Fertility Preservation Option for Young Singaporean Women?

open access: yes, 2013
In March 2012, an article in The Straits Times entitled ‘Freezing eggs could reverse falling birth rate’ suggested that employing the latest oocyte cryopreservation techniques could both foster individual women’s reproductive autonomy and impact ...

Cryopreservation of Embryos

open access: yes, 1992
For the last decade, plant cell cultures have become subjects of intensive research with emphasis on important biotechnological applications such as large scale production of clonal plants, genetic engineering, production and isolation of mutants, selection of variants, screening for resistance to various stresses and creation of new plant species ...

Investigating the Cytoskeleton of DRGs Using Cryo‐Electron Microscopy and Deep Learning

open access: yesCytoskeleton, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We describe a method for determining the ultrastructural organization of axons and varicosities of cultured dorsal root ganglion (DRG) neurons using cryogenic electron microscopy (cryo‐EM). Cryo‐EM reveals the dimensions, proximity, and overall organization of biological specimens in a near‐native state, avoiding artifacts of fixation and ...

Cryopreservation techniques and their application in vegetatively propagated crop plants in Finland

open access: yesAgricultural and Food Science, 2008
Cryopreservation protocols have been introduced as techniques for germplasm preservation of vegetatively propagated horticultural and staple food crops. In Finland, cryopreservation has been studied since 1990’s, beginning with cryopreservation of forest

Controlled ovarian stimulation in cancer patients under 18 years old; a case series

open access: yesJournal of Ovarian Research
Background Fertility preservation for adolescent pubescent girls is a concern of the healthcare system and parents. Oocyte cryopreservation is regarded as a standard medical intervention for patients with a minimum age of 18 years. Evidence suggests that
