Evaluating Isochoric Freezing as a Strategy for Storage of Red Blood Cells

open access: yesBiotechnology and Bioengineering, Volume 123, Issue 4, Page 973-982, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Red blood cells (RBCs) are needed for life‐saving blood transfusions, but they undergo continuous degradation during storage. Preserving RBCs for clinical transfusion remains a challenge due to storage‐induced damage and limitations of traditional freezing methods.

One Case of Transvaginal and Transabdominal Oocyte Retrieval Guided by Ultrasound Probe: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Transvaginal ultrasound‐guided oocyte retrieval is routine for assisted reproduction, but unfit for some special patients. We report an elderly infertile patient with adenomyosis, whose transvaginal retrieval was high risk. Intraoperative conversion to transabdominal retrieval succeeded safely.

Dual Targeting of DNA and EGFR by ZYH005 Induces DNA Damage and Mitotic Catastrophe in Glioblastoma

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 4, April 2026.
ZYH005 exerts potent anti‐glioblastoma activity through a dual mechanism: intercalation‐mediated DNA damage and targeted inhibition of EGFR, leading to cell cycle arrest and mitotic catastrophe. ABSTRACT Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is an aggressive, therapy‐resistant brain tumor with limited treatment options.

Success of restoration strategies in preventing extirpation of 2 critically endangered coral species

open access: yesConservation Biology, Volume 40, Issue 2, April 2026.
Abstract An unprecedented marine heatwave in 2023 caused widespread coral bleaching and mortality throughout the Caribbean. In the Florida Keys (USA), 2 foundation species, elkhorn coral (Acropora palmata) and staghorn coral (Acropora cervicornis), were severely affected.

In vitro culture, cryopreservation, and field reintroduction of the endangered Mingan thistle

open access: yesConservation Biology, Volume 40, Issue 2, April 2026.
Abstract Current plant conservation efforts are hindered by, for example, poor seed germination, low viability, and insufficient propagation and preservation technologies. To address these problems, we devised an approach to plant conservation that integrates conservation, preservation, and restoration (CPR), which uses advanced in vitro techniques. We
