Effects of extender type, sperm volume, cryoprotectant concentration, cryopreservation and time duration on motility, survival and fertilisation rates of Mekong giant catfish sperm [PDF]
The objectives of this study are to evaluate the effects of some basic factors, namely extender type, sperm volume, cryoprotectant concentration, cryopreservation and storage time, on the quality of Mekong giant catfish (MGC) sperm. The following results

Effect of Some Biopolymers on the Rheological Behavior of Surimi Gel
The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of selected biopolymers on the rheological properties of surimi. In our paper, we highlight the functional properties and rheological aspects of some starch mixtures used in surimi.

Vitrification Ability of Combined and Single Cryoprotective Agents
Cryoprotective agents (CPA) are an important part of many current vitrification methods. The vitrification ability of CPAs influences the probability of the glass transition and water crystallization occurrence.

Phytohormone brassinosteroid‐induced gene regulation by the transcription factor BIL1/BZR1 involves redox‐dependent DNA‐binding alternation and interaction with the transcription factor PIF4. The reduced BIL1/BZR1 dimer binds preferred cis‐elements, while oxidation alters its oligomerization state and disrupts DNA‐binding ability.

Effects of the slow cooling during cryopreservation on the survival and morphology of Taiwan shoveljaw carp (Varicorhinus barbatulus) spermatozoa [PDF]
Over the past decades, pollution, overfishing, and habitat degradation have driven the population size of Taiwan shoveljaw carp down markedly in Taiwan.

Cryoprotectant Toxicity: Facts, Issues, and Questions
High levels of penetrating cryoprotectants (CPAs) can eliminate ice formation during cryopreservation of cells, tissues, and organs to cryogenic temperatures. But CPAs become increasingly toxic as concentration increases.

ABSTRACT Objective Alexander disease (AxD) is a severe neurodegenerative disorder caused by gain‐of‐function mutations in the gene for GFAP, which lead to protein aggregation and a primary astrocytopathy. Symptoms vary, but failure to thrive (FTT) and frequent emesis are common and cause significant morbidity. Here we investigate GDF15, a member of the

Lyophilization of Liposomal Formulations: Still Necessary, Still Challenging
Nowadays, the freeze-drying of liposome dispersions is still necessary to provide a solid dosage form intended for different routes of administration (i.e., parenteral, oral, nasal and/or pulmonary).
