The angular non-critical phase-matching (A-NCPM) second-harmonic-generation (SHG) properties of RE1xRE21−xCOB (RE1, RE2 = Y, Gd, La, Tm, Sm, and Nd) type mixed crystals including NCPM wavelength and conversion efficiency were detailedly investigated ...

Dendrite engineering on xenon crystals [PDF]
The experimental work presented focuses on transient growth, morphological transitions, and control of xenon dendrites. Dendritic free growth is perturbed by two different mechanisms: Shaking and heating up to the melting temperature. Spontaneous and metastable multitip configurations are stabilized, coarsening is reduced, leading to a denser ...

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...

Pseudo-Bifurcated Chalcogen Bond in Crystal Engineering
The concept of pseudo-bifurcated chalcogen bond has been proposed for the first time in this paper. It was found that the anticooperative effects between two chalcogen bonds of the pseudo-bifurcated chalcogen bond are not very large as compared to those ...

Optimal Doping Concentrations of Nd3+ Ions in CYGA Laser Crystals
The kinetic process of the excited state population of Nd3+ ion in Nd: CaY0.9Gd0.1AlO4 (Nd: CYGA) crystal were studied in detail to estimate the optimal doping concentration, which maximize ~1 μm fluorescence emission from the 4F3/2 state to the 4I9/2 ...

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Pharmaceutical Crystal Engineering Using Ionic Liquid Anion–Solute Interactions
The main purpose of this work was to investigate the potential of ionic liquids (ILs) in crystal engineering. We have employed ILs with different combinations of cations and anions to study their role in directing crystal structure formation of a ...
