Design and fabrication of high quality-factor 1-d photonic crystal/photonic wire extended microcavities [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We have successfully demonstrated experimentally the fabrication and measurement of high quality-factor one-dimensional photonic crystal/photonic wire extended cavities based on silicon-on-insulator.

Vibrational Properties of the Potassium Titanyl Phosphate Crystal Family

open access: yes, 2023
The crystal family of potassium titanyl phosphate (KTiOPO4) is a promising material group for applications in quantum and nonlinear optics. The fabrication of low-loss optical waveguides, as well as high-grade periodically poled ferroelectric domain ...

Author Correction: Liquid crystal elastomer coatings with programmed response of surface profile

open access: yesNature Communications, 2018
The original version of this Article contained errors in Figs. 1a, 2a, 3a, and 4b, in which the units on the scale bars incorrectly read ‘µm’ rather than the correct ‘nm.’ This has been corrected in both the PDF and HTML versions of the Article.

Controlled Synthesis and Properties of 3d–4f Metals Co-doped Polyoxometalates-Based Materials

open access: yesNanoscale Research Letters, 2020
It is challenging to explore and prepare polyoxometalates-based nanomaterials (PNMs) with controllable morphologies and diversiform components. Herein, 3d–4f metals are introduced into isopolyoxometalates and Anderson-type polyoxometalates, CeCdW12 ...

Stimulator of interferon genes agonist augmented antitumor immunity of osimertinib in Egfr‐mutated lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining osimertinib with the STING agonist ADU‐S100 activates innate and adaptive immunity to overcome the non‐inflamed microenvironment of Egfr‐mutant lung cancer. This combination increases NK and CD8+ T‐cell infiltration, associated with activation of the STING‐IRF3 pathway and local immunogenic cell death.

Control of Oxygen Impurities in a Continuous-Feeding Czochralski-Silicon Crystal Growth by the Double-Crucible Method

open access: yes, 2021
The continuous-feeding Czochralski method is a cost-effective method to grow single silicon crystals. An inner crucible is used to prevent the un-melted silicon feedstock from transferring to the melt-crystal interface in this method.

USP29‐regulated noncanonical stabilization of the hypoxia‐inducible factor‐α in aggressive prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identify USP29 as the only DUB mirroring CA9 expression, a marker of hypoxia and HIF pathway activation associated with PCA aggressiveness. USP29 stabilizes HIF‐1α and HIF‐2α via a noncanonical mechanism that is independent of PHD/pVHL activity yet relies on proteasomal regulation, establishing USP29 as a previously unrecognized regulator of hypoxic

Charge density analysis for crystal engineering [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
This review reports on the application of charge density analysis in the field of crystal engineering, which is one of the most growing and productive areas of the entire field of crystallography. While methods to calculate or measure electron density

Finding novel vulnerabilities of hypomorphic BRCA1 alleles

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Synthetic lethality screens performed to identify novel vulnerabilities often model complete gene loss, thereby overlooking patient‐derived hypomorphic mutations. In this study, we have performed genome‐wide CRISPR screens on BRCA1 hypomorphic mutations, showing BRCA1I26A behaves like wild‐type, while BRCA1R1699Q mimics deficiency. Furthermore, we have
