Cosmic Crystallography in Compact Hyperbolic Universes [PDF]
We try to apply the cosmic crystallography method of Lehoucq, Lachieze-Rey, and Luminet to a universe model with closed spatial section of negative curvature. But the sharp peaks predicted for Einstein-de Sitter closed models do not appear in our hyperbolic example.

Serial protein crystallography in an electron microscope
Serial X-ray crystallography at free-electron lasers allows to solve biomolecular structures from sub-micron-sized crystals. However, beam time at these facilities is scarce, and involved sample delivery techniques are required.

The measured infrared spectrum of lithium‐sodium orthoborate ((Li0.5Na0.5)3BO3) is shown by first principle calculations to be made up of contributions originating from the mixed alkali‐metal orthoborate Li5Na4B3O9, pyroborate Li2Na2B2O5 and carbonate LiNaCO3, showcasing the important effect of carbon dioxide absorption on the structural make‐up of the

Automatic physical phasing X-ray crystallography [PDF]
Phase invariants are important pieces of information about the atomic structures of crystals. There are several mathematical methods in X-ray crystallography to estimate phase invariants. The multi-wave diffraction phenomenon offers a unique opportunity of physically measuring phase invariants.

Analytic morphing of wurtzite nanowire cross sections to arbitrary shapes yields numbers of nanowire atoms, of bonds between these and of nanowire interface bonds, plus the nanowire cross section area. The ratios of above variables help to interpret any spectroscopic nanowire data which depend on diameter and cross section shape, and can be applied to ...

The Evolution and the Advantages of MicroED
MicroED is a method which combines cryo-EM sample preparation and instrumentation, with electron and X-ray crystallography data analysis, and it has been employed to solve many protein crystal structures at high resolution.

The Topology of the Unitary Dual of Crystallography Groups [PDF]
We provide a procedure for generating the irreducible representations of crystallography groups in any dimension. We also furnish a strategy to investigate the topology of the unitary dual of a crystallography group using sequences of matrices. All irreducible representations (up to unitary equivalence) of the dimension 3 crystallography group 90 and ...
